Think its possible? After my 100% A-spec game I got to thinking if it could be done in all B-spec. Yeah I know about the special conditions and missions, but except for those all the other races. I started out a game like that and found that you either have to mod the car to the max or have an overpowering car to begin with to win even some of the beginner races. I'd almost bet it can't be done, unless B-spec get a LOT better at passing with more experience. Any thoughts?

Its probably not going to work. B-Spec driver dosn't know who he is half the time, let alone overtake. Its worth an attempt though, however you better get a good book to pass the time...

Sure, it's possible. A highly skilled B-spec driver can win any race in the game. If you decide to make the attempt, you might want to check into some notes on maximizing B-spec skills. There are a maximum of 10000/100/100/100 B-spec points and skills, but the usual process involves racing family cups to collect points from every track and direction. Some of these tracks are used rarely in events, and then only with a limited power range. I'm currious how many B-spec points can be collected by racing in events only.

This link is to the B-spec reference thread.

where he surely will have a bunch of trouble is the final championship with the f1's..
Yeah there's that. But I was thinking the Opel Speedster race and the like where you need to be nearlly fully modded even to win in A-spec would be nearly impossible in B-spec.

Apparently you can b-spec a special condition race, i saw a post here where someone used a Formula GT tne got enough of a lead to allow them to pit in and change to b-spec mode.

I havent tried it but maybe its worth a go.

The Opel races can be won by a B-spec driver with around 8500 points (assuming battle skill isn't lagging too much). A B-driver with max skills can win the Opel races rated at A-spec 200. It's not impossible, but these, and several other races will probably need to be put off until later.

The F1 series can be won with a little less than 7000 points. However, some of the individual races are difficult to win without high battle skill and a skilled director.

@ Orion,
Approx 9000/100/90/89 (MCB).

After that i started reading the Bspec thread to maximise Bspecs and go in to Family cup racing. I'd never bothered with family cup before that time so I'm pretty confident with the above numbers.

I suspect that the topic host may have lost interest, but your numbers provide some good reference for this challenge. Also, if you've read the B-spec thread and attempted the hunt for 10000 points, the difficulties will be a little more obvious.

I suspect that completing the game competatively using B-spec will collect all 7000 floating points. The trick is to collect as many of the other 3000 points that are spread over 58 different tracks. Each of these tracks had course points and battle points for the four major power classes (A-low, B-med, C-high, D-super). Several of the tracks are used rarely, and then only with a limited power range.

Compared to your excellent no-Famly Cup scores, it might be possible to collect many more course points by entering cars that are too weak or powerful compared to the competition in races on rare tracks. The trick would be to also find ways to collect as many of the battle points at possible. You collected 90% of all points, but only 66% of the track points; I suspect more is possible, but I'm not quite currious enough to try it myself.

I was thinking that this task would be more diffucult without access to either of the C range cars suggested by the japanese author (RSC Rally Raid, Impreza Rally Prototype) that are only available through Special Condition events. However, it should be possilbe to buy these cars from another memory card - plenty of money should be available.

:dopey: Nah I'm still around but forgot about this thread... Best I've ever gotten was 8500/99/85/85 with about 45% of the game finished. One big thing stopping going much further is boredom. :)

The entire game in B-Spec (excluding A-Spec only races)? Good luck with that. I like B-Spec, but it the whole game can't really be done "on the B". I know a wall you'll easily hit under B-Spec :nervous:: The GT World Championship. Unless maybe if you have the Formula GT (you can easily do that 24 hour race on B-Spec), you might stand stand a B-Spec chance, but using a Group C/LMP car like the Pescarolo C60 or Toyota Minolta (awesome car), you'll have to do this race yourself. Sounds like a cool idea though.

I could never B-spec the entire game; I would find it way too frustrating having to sit there hour after hour while Bob screws up. I have a few "Bobs" now who have a decent amount of Battle Points, yet they still manage to screw up some races I could smoke, sometimes even with extra power over the Ai.

I'm not sure if B-spec will be any better in GT5. I'm guessing it will be since it's been well-reported that the Ai in general is definitely improved. So that's a possibility.

Being that the 'WIFE' wont let me have a PS3, I may give this a go, once I have finished my newley purchased Transformers TV DVD packs.

I think, I may go the 1000 miles start. This should get quite a bit of money for upgrades to 'Bobs' cars. :)

I shall let you know how I can when I can.
