Having multiple M3's, let me tell you what you WONT have to worry about putting an M3 through its "digital" paces in gran turismo 5

-your SMG is going to break. Not, it might break, or maybe it will break later, your SMG transmission will break.

-ignition coils, alternator, fuel pump, starter, constant pressure valve and rear main seal are going to go bad. replaced as necessary.

-cooling system is done by 50-80k miles, replace radiator, hoses, water pump or your engine will overheat and seize

-oil pump nut can go any time, car will overheat and seize, check every 10k-15k miles

-flex disc can be gone in one day if you really want it to be

-subframe bushings, engine, transmission and LSD bushings and mounts done by 80k miles, replace.

-RTAB and RCAB bushings will be done by 100k miles or earlier, when the bushings are done the trailing and control arm can rip right through the sheet metal of the car, expect something amazing to happen to you and your car if this happens at above 100mph
(install aftermarket shock tower reinforcement plates, RTAB reinforcements plates welded in if you want to be safe)

thats just getting into the good times... theres plenty more where that came from!

Then why did you buy multiple M3's if that is the case.

I had a used E46 kept it for 2 years then sold it. No problems except for this one time. It overheated I was on the highway I had to coast to a stop on the shoulder.

But It was fixed for free under the warranty I bought (Guess its not considered free then)

aga080 get bent bro.

Listen, the E46 M3 is a excellent car and your right its not without its faults, however lets keep it realistic here. The overwhelming majority of cars perform without issue if you conduct regular maintenance. Having owned an M3 for over a year, I can tell you the car is absolutely superb. This coming from a true driving enthusiast that lets the car know whos driving it and why regularly and theres one reason. Performance. BMW is built around it and with that comes a responsibility. A responsibility to not take the car to the stealership and pay 3X, 4X 5X more than in any possible way is needed. With this said you do need to replace bushings for the car and RTAB's are $60 bucks and FCABs are $60 bucks, install and your done. Why you trying to scare someone out of the opportunity of a such a well balanced and refined vehicle ... owning an E46 M3. S54 FTW.
