Im an a-spec level 38 so I know how to drive. Recently however my cars tend to skid violently at the rear axle. Particularly when I'm about to change into 2nd or 3rd gear. This is ruining my gameplay, with reliable cars such as the 787B race car being one of the worst to drive. Along with most group c cars as well. I'm not sure what's happened; I've used the same default settings since the game came out; but if there are any suggestions to why my cars are suddenly crud (primarily RWD) I would appreciate it thanks.

My 787B is terrible too, yet it has R2s. Maybe you should do all of the options in GTAuto.

Aside from an obvious sudden change like a driving aid, do you think you might have changed your driving technique? Maybe you getting more aggressive out of the corners or something?

It might be an idea to sit back and take a look at some replays, watch what you are doing. I've done this myself in the past, got a bit complacent , and got worse instead of improving.

It sounds to me like you have been using skid recovery force.
You might have switched it off accidentally or participated in a race where it was prohibited.
Once turned off it stays turned off, for all cars.

Any powerful RWD car would "skid violently at the rear axle" if this was the case.

Did you check if traction control or skid recovery force is on?

I'd say it's the traction control or skid recovery force if it is on ALL of your cars

But shouldn't these be off anyway?

ASM also prevents the back from stepping out, so check that too - may be you used to use it and now have stopped.
