Maybe insted of b1tching the people that have the game can start a thread about stuff that should be improved for the next GT.

That way it will more of a constructive criticism (constructive b1tching) :)

To be honest I think some people on this forum would buy GT4 even if it was GT3 with a crude 4 writen on the cover in marker pen ;)
 
To be honest, if I had an import version, I'd sit here and play it all day, and let your sorry asses rot as you wait for the US and PAL release. I did what Egghead and Maskrider are doing for another game, called Armored Core: Nexus, back before the US release. I donated my time and effort, and all I got in return was people *****ing about how crappy the game was compared to previous titles.

It got released stateside, and now it's all they play.

So what if every thread doesn't conform with your "gt4 is perfect" idea, it's a forum, both sides should be heard imo. Personally I would sacrifice half the cars (all the lancers and skylines) for 2 player battle XD

When people finally get to play the game all that they were B@tching about will be thrown out the door. Of course GT4 is not perfect, people have to realize that the PS2 is not a super console capable of doing everything developers want to do. In my opinion GT4 is a great improvement over GT3 and GT3 is damn good game. Remember guys this is not the final in the GT series. GT5 will be on PS3 which sounds like is going to be a very powerful console. Im sure the game will reach near perfection on the PS3. Cant wait too see that.
 
I guess it's my turn to holler at WelshGTLover.

I don't know much about Wales except for the beautiful capital city of Cardiff, sopranoist Charlotte Church, and maybe that rugby team I can't remember who it is... but one thing is common: Both of us like GT. I'm sure both of us love the GT series regardless of what the next iteration will be like compared to the others. I don't have the game, so I'm not going to make any reviews or claims on it. Hell, I haven't even thought about getting Prologue. But you're right. One thing I said about GT4's success is that "it all relies on the fans." We've underwent delays, pictures, movies, lack of online play beyond LAN, no popular European exotics, no damage, and all that. But you know what? I wasn't phased. Maybe since I'm so old-fashioned about games, that even the littlest detail doesn't have me concerned.

As I've said, PD will have to do a lot of negatives to get me to believe that GT4 will be the worst-ever GT rather than the best. Usually, sequels are supposed to be better than its previous game. And if it's a new franchise, it has to carry on the legacy the original game series provided. I'm not saying anything about GT4 until it hits stores and if I have access to it at an electronics store or something.

So WelshGTLover, if you feel wronged about the negatives people gave this game, I'd just say that not everyone thinks the game is a disappointment. I got more on this in the future, but I'll end it here for now.

Just because people complain about the game doesn't mean they aren't grateful to those people :irked: Infact it prepares people to be dissapointed by the time they do get to play it, knowing that X feature is missing etc..
 
Though people are free to express their opinions, please keep an open mind and respect the others.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of GT4 on its release date and while I opened a thread decided to share some tips and info for the players and would-be-owners, I got feedback from some that tells me that I'm wasting everyone's time because this viewer doesn't have his game yet. All i wanted to do was share some of the experiences i got because a lot of stuff weren't explained clearly even though i have carefully read through both manuals. For those of you who just want to whine and complain, at least say something original and constructive instead of b*tching about the same old subjects, readers want to find out information instead of complaints. Let's try to make this forum a positive environment, because if you want to, you can start your own GT Hater forum somewhere else.
 
You have a point there, Ducati. And as I said, for some people, what's a horrible idea could be a great idea for someone else. I'll tell you this much... any race on a boring track, or boring cars, B-Spec is my top priority. Have to use as much of the game as possible. And if there is something you may not like, you can grow to eventually like it. Like Photo Mode, I'd still want to take some nice pictures of my rides. You may know that I like city settings a lot, so I'll surely like taking photos of cars from one of my favorite American cities, New York City. Then I can do some shots in Tokyo. With the silouhette human figures, I won't be able to see if any of them were cute Japanese girls in wild fashion, or even the traditional Japanese school girl.

While I got girls on my mind, I guess I'm out of here. So, I basically don't complain a lot about my misadventures in the GT series except that Italian Avantgarde (GT3) is enough to give you a "good" feeling. That "good" feeling? Ever had hemorrhoids? Pissed me off. Had to have the Pagani Zonda RACE CAR rather than a tuned street car to win the damn race.
 
Here's a question for any one who reads this and can read Japanese. What do the Japanese web reviews and game forums say? I for one would be very interested in what they are saying and what there likes and dislikes are. So to anyone who can understand it and knows where to look, whats being said?

Amen to that! I play GT4 a WHOLE LOT Lately and I have very little to complain about, The way PD Know's us now they can easily Stiff us for a GT4 part 2 Disk with 2 Player Battle and Online Mode, Who knows, It would be some very smart Marketing! Honestly, GT4 is well worth it to me!
 
Online Mode is in. In the arcade mode you have the options of 1 player, time trial, 2 player, lan, and online mode. I remember reading about some post on how people connected to the japanese server before.

I don't agree with you. In fact I think the people that are complaining are in fact the ones who expected it to be perfect. Like yourself. You expect to much, and will be let down, such will be the case for a while with you, you and other will always find somethign that does not make you happy and point out the little negatives rather than the extremely large positives.

10% of the cars in GT4 are lancers and skylines, but it doesn't upset me one bit. Because I still have 630 other cars to go drive.

And remember most of those are not iterations of the same vehicle, they are tuned, or different year/models, wearing the same name, but different badge...so I don't see why it's such an extremely big deal. It's a popular car. You wouldn't complain if every Porsche made it in the game vs. 1 skyline would you...I thought so.

Just let go of your hopes and be satisfied with the great game that GT4 is, the game will never be perfect, no matter how many times it's bumped up, it will always be off. Accept that and you will be extremly satisfied.

I would complain if there 56 Volvo 850s & there one of my favourite cars. 56 for one car model/line is simply too many out of the '700' figure.

Okay, eithe you are just being anal, or you are not understanding.

The Skyline is one of hte most popular cars in Japan. Hence you will see a lot of it in a Japanese racing title. That is fairly easy to understand.

If PD was an american company, and it saw an american release first, SURELY you would expect to see more Corvettes and Mustangs than any other car would you not?

The fact remains that this game will sell MORE copies in asia, than it will in the US or any other country, that alone is incentive to reward your biggest user base with the most popular car in your country.

Sure there might be 56 Skylines, but that's why PD put in another 650 cars in the game, variety.

Forza is made by MS, an American Giant but 25% of their line up is not filled with Mustangs, Corvettes and Camaros. Their proportion is a lot more worldwide representative than GT4's.

meh...regardless, it's not a big thing, and most of those skylines are different years, different specs, different weights, same name...and you cannot count :P unless your sig is sarcastic.
 
My sig is based on The359's JAPAN car list a short while ago, the numbers may have 1 or 2 mistakes as I quickly counted them from there. But they should be accurate enough.

If they included so many Skylines to avoid creating a load more 3D models I don't see why they couldn't of for example done the same for VW Golfs. Not that I would agree with 56 Golfs :lol:
 
well in that case the numbers should be closer to 207 or something like that shouldn't they? not 500...

And of all of those skylines, there are nearly 25 different models, at least that I can count off the top of my head, I'm sure that the tuned ones may have slight differences...

Maybe I'm just a bit more forgiving with car selection...or in general...I don't understand why some people are so hard to please.
