well in that case the numbers should be closer to 207 or something like that shouldn't they? not 500...

And of all of those skylines, there are nearly 25 different models, at least that I can count off the top of my head, I'm sure that the tuned ones may have slight differences...

Maybe I'm just a bit more forgiving with car selection...or in general...I don't understand why some people are so hard to please.

My sigs 706 minus any car that has more than or equal to 10 variants of the same model which = 499. (May not be exactly right) So 207 is the right number for those cars. :)

I know theres some real good cars in GT4 & I'll love driving them but even so theres still plenty of holes that I just can't help but feel got filled by a Nissan Skyline with an slightly different door handle ;)

Yeah... they could at least put a Pinto in there.....
I'm just a bit disappointed that they didn't make up a RUF Carrera GT... It would be sweet to go against the SLR....
Who has the Porsche and Ferrari licenses again?

Allow me to answer that question. As most of you know, Electronic Arts carries the licenses for installing the Lamborghini, Porsche, and Ferrari Supercars. There's a thread somewhere on this website that explains very well why PD does not have the licenses for putting "the
big three" into the "real driving simultator", just use the search button to find it. I'm not going to be a slave for you and get it myself. And that thread convinces me that PD will never (IMHO) have the licenses to put the italian car makers into the GT series. If EA was wise enough, they would never let go of those licenses.
IMO, all of those modified skylines that PD put in GT4 is the concrete to fill this "hole".

yeah ive read people *****ing about the game and what not. and honostly i would have kept my mouth shut about every flaw in the game if it wasnt for the lack of 2player garage battle. im mean seriously, thats a real bad blow below the belt for me 👎

people have a right to b1tch!!! The success of the GT franchise has been built in no small part upon the ability to race tuned cars against mates tuned cars and online opponents tuned cars. Just look at all the online leagues that have been built on this feature. To remove 2 player garage cars is absurd and people have a right to whinge and it does matter - KY's team DO look at these threads................ 'look' at the changes that get re-instated becoz of people's complaints...i.e. power/weight and tyres choice of opposition vehicles at race start - this has been bought back to us BECOZ people made a noise about it!

Ok fine, I agree but 2 things :

1) I'm sick of hearing it, well all know 2 player battle isn't in, but for people to continue complan about, whats the point. Heh, you've heard it once, its not in the game, live with it!
2) All the whinning from various people about PD's screw ups such as the 2 player battle, do you think for one second these people are going to NOT buyt the game, of course they are still gonna get it! So complaing cause the games not perfect, it was never going to be. Buy the game (when its out), play it, love it.. I know I will!

Maybe they left out garage battles for 'GT4 : Online, extra cash in addition' (should it ever appear) so even those that don't want online have a reason to buy it ;)

tyzone_gt1
The game has over 700 cars.

No other game has even come that close , exept GT2.
So in my books GT4 will be the best racing game ever !

What a smart comment!!!! I'm bangin' my head off my keyboard now :indiff:

you never heard that variety and quality might be more important than quantity?

I guess not. So if GT5 has 1000 Skylines, it's the best GT game ever. Acoording to you of course.

Pity 👎

GT4 doesn't miss that 1000 Skyline mark by much

LOL good one, Im very afraid that there are going to be alot of people Lured into Forza due to its online Gameplay and Structure, Im not an Xbox person I'll definatly go GT4 (even though I have plenty of gripes) But No Online is going to be one of the biggest factors of Forza's sales.

Bah... 2p Garage battles are a big loss but... Nothing wrong with stock car battles in my opinion... I mean... We do have GT3 for that don't we? (Though the Cars are limited and the tracks may just be the damn same ones again) That seems to be the major gripe with the game but it should not give the game a bad rep cause of that... The most important think is actual gameplay and 2p battles are only a portion of it anyways... Perhaps I'm forgiving of that issue because I play GT alone and my friends are more casual GT players that really don't care or know enough to tune cars (Sheesh... All they think is horsepower, their cars suck at turning!!) And sure... The game is biased towards Japanese cars... However it still has a higher count of cars than any other game produced yet (Unless Microsoft can pullout +500 cars in Forza)... It is funny that people concentrate on the 100 Evo Skylines in the game while ignoring the other 550 cars that are in the game (I don't know the exact count and I really don't care)... Are they driving all those cars? I don't think so... Although I understand that some may not be able to drive the car they want... But that is not really PDs fault... They don't ask every GTfan in the world about their favorite cars... Go all around the globe looking for specific cars and all... Too tedious even with all the time they used...

BTW all of those people who complain will buy GT4 anyways... It is good to note problems with the game or missing components that may make the game less of their liking... But all I read is the same issue and it has been brought up a million times... Unless there is any new flaws out of GT4... It does not have any reason to continue on and on...

And this thread supposed to positive , and it still end out negatively. It's defiantly a fact that something in game is not quite as espected to be.

Well GT3 did have complaints coming out all to this day... It isn't anything new...

Funny... GT3 had complains... Gt4 had complains... everyone loves to complain because their game ain't ****ing perfect. Well, to those who complain and think PD sucks ass without even asking themselves if there is a good reason behind this... well TOUGH LUCK... go and start your own god damn company and do a better game. (easy to say... well then, go back and play the stupid game and shut the **** up).

And all those who complain about 'my favorite car is not in the game'... boowoo ****ing wooo... better luck next time. Guess what, not ALL cars can be in a single game, and a ****LOAD of cars don't deserve to be in a freakin' game. (granted, some cars that are in either... but hey, no one's perfect last time i checked).

The game is better, faster, has more tracks, has more cars, has used cars, has better upgrades, as ****ing nice graphics, has awesome physics... Its the nicest ****ing car simulator on consoles today, coupled with the DFP it gets a x2...

... and everyone are still complaining about a ****ing 2pgarage mishap and too many skylines... **** this ****. Everyone's complaining for some really trivia ****.

What happend to the speed ring everyone hated so much? Aren't you all happy that there is Lemans, the 'Ring, stupid backfire, Fuel consomption, real pits, better sounds, revamped tracks, weather conditions... OH but WAIIIT! we can't complain about all that stuff we wanted a couple of months back... ITS IN THE ****ING GAME ALREADY...

Now everyone who doesn't have his or her little ego satisfied with this game, pack it up, sell it on Ebay or ****ing burn it, and wait for Forza or Enthusia or Gotham3 for all i care.

I'll just sit back and wait for the NTSC-US to be released, and enjoy the hell out of it AS I AM ENJOYING GT3.

geezus Krist...

Sorry for all this ranting, but i've had enought... This forum went from super smart to complaintly stupid in a week's time.

Red Oak, you are wrong, but I guess you allready know that. 2 player garage battles are a HUGE HUGE HUGE loss. No tuned fiat panda races for me :(

Wow RedOak... you use more foulmouth than myself when I'm having a really bad day. I wouldn't go on the premise of "good to super stupid," though.

You know what's strange? It's another double standard. If someone like Red Oak makes a big rant, he doesn't get as pushed around by the general public. But if I make a big rant, I'm talked about like "shut the **** up." So in a one-word question... wazzupwitdat? A rant is a rant no matter who starts it. One word... underappreciation.

Amid the rant, he has some points as does Animateria (explained later, or in a future post). No game is going to be perfect, you know why? Everyone has different tastes. A person who loves multiplayer and little graphical touches is probably going to love a game more than a person who'd rather just play through the game in whatever shape it's in. I cannot comment on 2-Player Battle Garage because I've never tried it. No, I'm telling the truth. I'm a GT veteran, but never did that. RedOak also talked about how we're forgettingabout more cars, more tracks, better physics and more just as I have in the old Sound Off! thread "Aren't We Forgetting Something?" I guess games nowadays have to do more than... just be a regular video game. Of course I ask the question "what more does this game have to do for you?" Do you want a game to do your laundry? Prepare your Science Fair project? Complete your Mid-Terms? Pay off debt?

GT4 has a lot, but can't do a lot. I'd still want to know what 2-Player Battle Garage is like, but regardless, I'm still happy with the single player and a myriad of options. In my mind, it will still be the game to beat right now.

It's because you talk in annoying metaphors, and drag on what could be a 5 line sentance in to about 5 pages. You also include words like "you dig" etc.

Anyway, back to the point at hand, saying "but the game has *this*" is hardly an excuse to miss out important features

ok, your "theory" is dumb, care to explain how both Microsoft and SEGA have a Ferrari license if it's "exclusive" to EA? look at the facts out there first before making statements, not to mention MS actually has Lamborgini and Porsche too.

It doesn't make much sense for one company to have all these licenses so no one else can use them. It's kind of like a monopoly.

Anyway, back to the point at hand, saying "but the game has *this*" is hardly an excuse to miss out important features

Anyone could go on saying that "your" comment is hardly an excuse to miss out important features. That's mostly John's point in his post, which again is very articulated.

Define "important" feature? For you its the 2P garage... for others, its backfire. I've read so many posts from so many different people going on saying that if backfire is not in the game, its completly stupid and they'd rather buy an xbox... BACKFIRE for christ sake... how simple and non important is that, especially when you race in cockpit, you can't even see the damn thing unless in replay... on a gameboard, that goes wayy down the list of priorities...trust me. But hey! its in.. so obviously noone complains about it nomore... but then again, i've read about 5 posts that say they enjoyed it... so that makes it about 200rants for 5happy posts on the subject.

Have you considered that perharps PD made a study in the GT community (no they probably didn't ask you, as they would have got a different response, i know) and it turns out that perhaps only 20% of the community actually use multiplayer garage...? They perharps decided it wasn't worth taking 3 months of code to integrate in their version. Perharps they though it would be better to include it a futur multiplayer-only version? wait, even better... perharps their study shows that in Japan, no one races with their own car as when they have friends over, they just race for the fun of it or do Drifting competitions...no battles? So they decided not to bother with this in the Japanese version...

As with cars difference in GT3, perharps there will be changes in the options for the "American" version?

Overall, the idea behind posting is to be constructive in your comments or ideas... and saying "if its not in, its stupid" is not constructive. Its a waste of space and a waste of time... a post you read really fast to get to the next one. Just like my previous one, which was somewhat supposed to make this point exactly.

Anyways, i find this community as gone ape**** about something that's very trivia at this point. Sure it sucks 2pG ain't in... but honestly... does that make you hate the ****ing game so much? or its just because everyone just likes to rant more and more 'cause it sort of makes them cool on the board, follow the flow or just gets them to vent over and over and over? seriously...

Put it this way... take your favorite car... and imagine a dealership offering you that car with a 80% deduction on the price if you pay cash (which you can do at this point)... but the car comes in a totally ****ty colour... You buy it or not?

Electronic Arts announced today an exclusive licensing agreement with the National Football League and Players Inc. to develop, publish, and distribute interactive football games. These agreements give EA the exclusive rights to the NFL teams, stadiums, and players for use in its football video games for the next five years.

RedOak, you must be new around here. Here's how things are done here. You make your points, others read your points, you do your thing, many others will like it, and some oppurtunistic jackass will make fun of you and bring shame on you. How fair is that? Well, I guess since we're all screennames and no real life outside of the Internet, it's okay to hate on people whenever you feel like it because YOU DON'T KNOW THAT PERSON. Okay, now if I continue, I'm going to be the one that's b*tching, so I'll stop at that.

And just to make an ass out of myself in one person's view, let me say this:

You dig? Gosh. Whatever happened to just being yourself and not be pushed around like you're an innocent civilian stepping into gang turf?

John,

Totally agree with your point, obviously. You're of the few ones i respect the most here because your posts are intelligent and articulated; i hope it doesn't change. As for my being here, i've scouted this forum for a good while before i registered, so that must make a few years since we're 2005. BUt that's besides the point...

Internet is awesome 'cause you get to say whatever you want to whoever 'cause you're not in their face... my personal problem is that i'm an arrogant bastard who is never satisfied and mostly hate people who complain for no good reasons. At the same time i complain a lot but never get my message accross because whatever bits of constructive comment i post is always near the end of my rant, or at the bottom of a page, which is never read 'cause the next post goes to the next page... go figure.

The sad part tho.. is that i'm like that in real life and on all the other forums i visit everyday. That's how i got my job too... which is in the videogame industry btw (here i go again... full of **** and arrogant like i am). So everyone, very sorry for posting my humble opinion on the subject, to whoever doesn't like it. I don't know that much about cars (and i don't post about that) but i know about the movie and videogame industry, its sad, but that's how things go.

Cheers,
