any body who play gt3 on the computer can you tell me if I can use a VGA device to play on my computer and still capture the replays into the computer without a video card because I am planning to buy it to play gt3 on the computer and I will set up my lair. I am going to buy the logictec wheel and have my ps2 right next to the computer so when I get a network adapter it will be in one place. my current place I play gt3 is across my house far away from the computer. so when I set my lair up it's going to be one hell of a place like cudaman's:trouble:

sorry for the long message
I will repeat my self in a short summary.

can I capture my replays into my computer while using things such as fraps and playing gt3 on my computer monitor using a VGA device???

GT3. Computer. Eh?

First you'd need a DVD ROM and second, you'd need a PS2 emulator - and there are no PS2 emulators.

Dude (or lady), he's referring to the VGA BOX

Letme emphasis that for you, DRFT:

RECORD PS2 MOVIES VIA VGA BOX

yeah a vga box:lol:
a alternative to a video card.

I just seen one in radio shack today it said you can plug you tv, dvd, vcr, ps2 .. etc and it was cheap so I was like thinking of buying it tomorrow or somthing:D

The network adaptor is irreverent when all you're doing is converting the the signal to the monitor

I was confirming about the online capablities. I have no idea about the recordings - those boxes cost like $99 dollars at Fry's! Screw that... if you can show me the price of box at Radioshack online that'd be great

Well, I am absolutely positive that if you have an Apple G4 (dual processors) with in combination with the VGA component kit with Firewire support, you can record movies on the fly with iMovie. I tried that with my Dreamcast before. I'm just not sure if you'll be able to record movies if your processors isn't capable to record in sync.

Also, regarding iMovie, you have to start recording before you can see the screen.

I would warn against VGA boxes. Generally they look like poop. You will have very poor contrast, and tons of dot crawl (if it uses the composite video in).

Not worth whatever they're asking....

no I swear I saw the price and I was like wow that's cheap. I think the price was about $30 and above I can't remember and I read the discription in the back of the product hook up your ps2 to your computer somthing like that. I found it in the gaming section at radio shack and I found some neat stuff to like a ps2 controller to usb for the computer converter.

I've got a local toys n joys store here and I looked at their site and they got a VGA BOX for under $40 so to prove that they have a cheap vga box. VGA BOX

My gosh you guys ...

I use the Pinnacle PCTV. You can watch television on your computer with this card and you can also record stuff onto the computer. It's like an all-in-one kind of card. go to http://www.pinnaclesys.com and look for the PCTV and see if it works for you. If you want some reviews, go to http://www.google.com and type in Pinnacle PCTV review.

this is the one i use. 50 bucks and i can watch tv, listen to the radio, record whatever i want, take screen captures, and you can hook the ps2 into it or whatever the hell else you want. its really a great card

Thio, I just bought one yesterday. Despite sync issues on the TV, I can't figure out how to get audio input through the composite method (or should I say via RCA cables). A lil help?

You have to hook up the audio cables to the Line In of your sound card. You need to get a special connector that would change the RCA male to a Headphone male. If you understand what I mean :)
