...Without breaking the bank. I've got my favorites, but I'm really growing tired of constantly checking the used car lot just to be disappointed...

Any help here would be great - especially if there is a good prize car I'm just missing.

👍

I think a game guide with all the cars and prizes and how to obtain them is going to be a must buy for this game. I feel the same way about the used car lot. I understand the realism factor..... but making me wait to buy one stupid car is torture.

Example:

I don't like buying cars just for one race. like the vitz race..... so i tried to use the prize vitz that you get for i don't recall what. Well that's well and good but the poor thing is uncompetitive unless you 1. upgrade it or 2. drive VERY dirty. I'm not really in favor of either. I don't want to spend money upgrading a car that i'm only likely to use one time and i don't want to purposely play bumper cars and pace car trying to win with an uncompetitive vehicle. (although in this case it IS possible to win with that slow slow turd)

Anyway i decided i needed to buy a turbo yaris. thankfully there was one in the used lot. but if not then what? race other races and keep checking till i found one? I would MUCH rather prefer being able to just go to toyota and buy one on a moments notice.

They could keep em separate. have a second lot with "classic" or even used.... but all are in stock.

Makes buying every car much more bearable that way

I'm getting fed up with this as well. I don't really have time to keep checking the dealerships to get this one car that I need to do a race. Gaming time for me is very precious and hard to come by. This is one of the many usability issues that I have with GT5.

...To me its just a GT quirk that you just have to learn to love...

Just need some help finding the right car - I'm picky with my classics.

Frustration is largely self imposed for me because I didn't snap up a BMW 2002 Turbo when I saw it...

:ouch:

The used car dealership is really horrible. They could have divided it into: 80s, 90s, 00s and classics similarly to GT4 but the way it is now it's almost impossible to find anything and checking after every single race is tedious to say the least. With more than 800 cars, the current system just fails.

Nissan 2000GT (70) for Japanese classic = Z ACT (70)

Not to be Mr. Counterpoint, but I love the Used lot. I too am waiting for a Euro classic, and had a "Damn it I should of bought it when I had the chance" moment.

A Lancia Stratos was available and I passed cause I didnt wanna blow all my credits.

However checking back with it is fun and I have picked up a few cars that I knew just might be one of those moments.

Just keep checking back, there is a ton of stuff to do between licenses, challenges and other races! Go do one and then check back, rinse repeat!

Happy motorsport!

funny I was thinking about this earlier today as well. I want the '02 Turbo Yaris/Vitz but haven't seen it. I have seen a few awesome cars that I didn't know were even in the game though, so that's cool, but yeah, that race will just have to wait.

+1

I do feel the people who dont have a lot of spare gaming time. but I like the system the way it is. I think you just need to make some impules purchases, you might not nned that car right now, but it could be gone tomorrow! i had to wait a few races for a euro classic to turn up, i'd seen one thought i'll get that latter but then it was gone and there were no classics to be found :grumpy: so i checked back later and saw an Alpin somthing? picked it (woulden't have got it normally) and i'm loving it! did the euro classic and now I'm tunning it up to race the classic super car cup.

so just buy cars people there over a 1000 in there!

waiting... checking... checking again....... checking again

A quick update for the OP. If you got the CE you can use the Lambo to do the lambo race in the pro series., and it will give you a Countach, that you can use in the classic race.

Its a slaughter though.

i found an older skyline for the japanese classics races and i bought a new premium 512BB ferrari for the european classics that i used in the italian festival and supercar nostalgia races. might even try the ferrari challenge with it. also if you need a truck, then just complete the international-a license and itll give you a big ass dodge ram. but hey its better than having to buy one right.

I got an e type jag for about $40000 with 349,000 kms on the clock. Was beating all the classics easily before I even tuned it. Now its a beast! Looks great, sounds great and drifts nicely too!

I know how you feel! Ive been trying to get a G4 and a 2000gt 67 for 2 days now!!! Ive started buying cars of that era in the hope they are replaced with similar era cars when the list updates.

A Spec for Japanese: The Dome Zero can be won and used in this series.
B-Spec? I have no clue, that car is broken unless you are driving it.

You can win the BMW 2002 Turbo from the DTM Series (A-spec, Extreme). Or grab one in the used car lot. It was good enough for my B-spec driver to win with.

edit: I used the Alfa Romeo Giulia from the Festival Italia, with some modifications.

For the Japanese one, I really hoped to find a 280Z or something like that in the used car lot, but ended up caving and buying an Isuzu 117. My B-spec driver was able to win with this as well (maybe after a few cheap mods); unfortunately the B-spec prize is: the Isuzu 117. Live and learn I guess.

I used a BMW 2002 turbo that I restored for the euro classic. I put a lot of money into it though.

i was round my mates the othere day and made him buy that, haven't seen it in my used dealership yet :grumpy: but I'v picked up a 206 turbo 85, the Alpine A110 - that i have race moded for the nostalger cup , e-type jag and and some alpha romeo that was a prize car for somthing.
I just pop in there after every couple of races and have a look to see whats new. hopping to get enough classics together to set up a cllasics only online race, will post some details in the online section when i get a good collection :)

Broken how? What's wrong with it?

Car seems to have a severe case of over-steer by my B-Spec driver. Either its because he sucks at FR cars or the car is too twitchy to leave in the car of a mindless drone.

I don't want to be playing way up in expert to finally get a car for a beginner race. I cannot find anything for sale in the UCD, Online Dealer, or new dealerships that is affordable and competitive. What's up with that?

My B-Spec driver is the same. Despite several chasis/suspension upgrades he cannot drive without drifting around almost all of the corners. At first I thought maybe I left him on comfort tires but nope. Dude just wants to be a show-off. His attitude meter has to be pretty cool before this ends and despite a decent HP advantage he will still run low in the pack unless I am all over him with commands. Funny how the same car is too easy to win with in A-Spec with less mods.

Seriously, where am I going to get a competitive Euro classic car?

@planespotting

I can send you an E-type Jag that will easily win this race for you. You will have to mod it for your Bob however. Look me up on PSN tommorow afternoon if interested.

Well, you don't mention what classics you want - road cars, race cars, rally cars, drift cars?? What actual cars are you looking for..??

It's the same for everyone though, it's part of the game - it took me a month real time before the DTM Alfa turned up.

Check the rare car threads for more info...

Alterntively, put an advert up in the GT5 market place...

That would be cool, don't know if I'll be on tomorrow but I'll try. Fair warning though... I'm just getting going so I don't really have trades or funds available. Took a bit to get used to using the G27.

Still want to know why BOB has decided he's in a drift competition. :odd:

The search facility (top right of screen) is your best friend on this forum. There are numerous (I mean absolutely loads) of threads about B spec and what you need to do and how you need to 'play' it in order to progress without tearing your hair out at Bob's driving. 👍

Sorry, that was meant to come across more funny than serious. Dry humor really doesn't work on a keyboard. :)

I had a Toyota 7 for the Japanese one, for the Euro one, I believe I used the Alfa Sprint prize from the A-Spec, god that was painful.
