I just recently noticed that whenver I pressed alt+ctrl delete that the window would pop up for a split second and the close. I tried running msconfig to kill any programs that might be causing the problem and it did the same then, it would flash for a second and close. Is there any way to check my startup programs or fix this problem? Could it be a virus?

Edit: I think I've solved it, I ran hijackthis and deleted a program called skybot :ouch: It seems to work now 👍

that sucks. i remember i almost a conniption fit when my task manager window turned into a grey border with no title bar or tabs. but in frustration, i accidentally double-clicked the grey part again, and all was well.

is skybot some kind of skynet subsidiary? :scared:

 Been there done that. Amidst a spew of expletives aimed at the computer I did the same as you and accidentally double clicked the border and all was well.

lol, everyones getting this problem. its something to do with a thing called windowsupdates.exe (which isnt windows update, as that is called something obscure). download something called process explorer, its a Task manager variant and can stop the annoying process, and tells you where it is (and lets you google anything on the process list incase you need to find other things to stop. mine also started booting Limewire at random
