Alternative Racing Modes? Ideas?

Doubt I'm the only person that does this sort of thing but I'm interested in the sort of 'different' racing that people get up to when not following the career, time trialling or racing online.

My internet connection for GT5 is awful (No idea why, perfectly fine on every other game I have: Dirt 3, Assassins Creed) So I spend quite a long time thinking up of new ways to enjoy the game offline.

One type of race I found to be good fun was Kart racing, but with a bit of a twist.

Rather than sticking to boring flat karting tracks such as the Tokyo Bays, Kart Space (it's fun for a while) and Eiffel kart I decided to start trying out the normal Eiffel Circuits.

I'd then make the track as mad as I can. I'm talking giant height changes, adverse cambers, crazy twisting descents etc. All while keeping the track width at a minimum to keep the 'kart track feel'. Some of the results, in my opinion were fantastic, and gave me a bit of a challenge for control in some cases.

Once you've got your track go onto Arcade on the hardest difficulty and race your 16 opponents at it. The AI are pretty comical to say the least and You'll have to fight your way through the bunch while avoiding their mishaps and trying not to stack it yourself. Keeps me amused for ages despite this being a part of the game that, in general is not too popular. I'll be posting a video of one of my tracks in the next hour or 2 once it's uploaded to Youtube.

In the video I'll post I go for it straight from the gun but you can challenge yourself and give yourself a 15 second handicap. the course shown is relatively easy compared to my hardest but you'll see what I mean about the AI as they slowly start failing until only one remains with me to contest the finish.

What I'm getting at is, does anyone else do this sort of thing? Or have you found any other 'alternative race ideas' that are a bit different from the norm?

+ If anyone wants to give my tracks a try add me on PSN: Gymkhana_Ryan43 and I'll send them across.
