Am I blind or can you not edit Lobby settings?

I've been looking through the manual and all over the forums for any explanation why I cannot edit lobby settings while inside of a custom lobby. Do they expect us to just race on a single track over and over until we get bored?

It’s stumped me too. Surely I’m missing something here, there’s a “host” menu and that’s where I’d expect it to be, what’s it for if it’s not to control the room setting? 🤪

I was thinking the exact same thing. I setup a test lobby to see what if any new options there was (not many unfortunately) and couldn't work out how to change the track without quitting and restarting the lobby??

As someone who hosts organised events this is very concerning... ☹️

Lobbies are pretty bad at the moment. Driving assists are bugged, you can’t edit lobby settings, you can’t kick a player out, you can’t see race results… that’s just out of my head.

You guys on PS4 or ps5 because on ps5 there are tons of options for a private lobby

Looks like myself and my crew are sticking with GTS for the time being then...that and the fact that GT7 is super grindy (but that's a separate issue)

GT development seemed to have misunderstood how important it is for players who use it to socialise and race, once in a “room” we need to be able to have control over those options. Right now only option is to tell friends to quit this room and try find my new room every five-ten mins when I decide to change track… or tyres… etc where’s the vote for track etc. can’t believe this got past the beta testers. I’d like to have an answer from a beta tester of the game that’s taken years to develop to justify this nonsense

Makes absolutely no sense. You would think the lobby function would just be cut and pasted from GTS with a few tweaks.

Which makes me think these options were removed on purpose, but for what reason?

Like I said, hope it gets sorted soon...

Not even an option to save lobby settings, for future use. Incredibly useful for series'. Save settings. Change track for each event.

I'm told there's no option for Practice/Quali/Race, either.

I'm sure it's going to get fixed quickly. The also DID mention that new lobby options are coming. My guess is that for now, it's a bug and there will be a patch

Not that I don't believe you. But, do you happen to have a source for this? Would be handy to feed back to a few people in a Discord server.
Yep, it's in this article https://www.gtplanet.net/gt7-updates-add-new-tracks-cars-20220303/.

Specifically, this paragraph (and personally I'm REALLY hoping this is soon)

"Online will be well catered for too, with new lobby features, new Sport Mode time trials, and the perennial improvements to the penalty system which was forever being tweaked in GT Sport"

I really hope they sort this mess with Lobbies out, as soon as possible. I was actually already a bit worried over time, how tuning is going to effect Lobby racing or even Dailies. Lobby already got me disappointed at that point, will try Dailies later on.

Yes, there is no way to change the lobby settings once the lobby is created.

I noticed the following:
  • No credits received for any multiplayer races for any players.
  • We had to keep closing the lobby and make a new one to change tracks or PP
  • My car sounded terrible like muffled and in a tunnel with lots of reverb/echo. All other players cars sounded normal but too loud. My cars sound normal in career/campaign.
  • Party chat was clear but too quiet.
  • Race BGM still played after turning it off. Annoying.
I am sure PD will get this worked out but damn annoying after paying 70.00 for what seems like a beta.

Game looks good and once its sorted out will be fun.

Also this thread should be in the Bug Reports thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gran-turismo-7-bug-reports.404869/page-5#post-13604952

@BARO2001 Speak English, read the AUP. Bitte. :sly:

Haven’t read all posts. Just here to bump. So annoying. Tried online for the first time with a mate and can’t change anything.

how do you kick people & how do you view other peoples car stats like in gt sport lobby?

Yup, sucks. You dont get any credits either. C'mon PD.
You don’t? I always mash X after a race so I didn’t notice.
But wow, that sucks indeed.

Still no drift points either, why have the mode there to choose if you don’t get points.

Anyone else notice a MASSIVE difference in the way their cars feel in online lobbies? Sport mode doesn't feel very different, but playing with friends seems undriveable. For instance, I ran 38 laps around mt. panorama while tuning a MKIV supra and it felt pretty good, but once I was in a multiplayer lobby the car was sliding way more, then suddenly understeered constantly, and felt like TCS would turn on and off. I cant really explain it but my friends felt it as well.

This is the biggest oversight in this game hands down. It makes 000000000 sense to go so far backwards from GT Sport in this regard. WTF were they thinking releasing the multiplayer in this state?

The Lobbies settings not able to be changed after creation of room nor being able to save room loadouts should be their #1 priority fix along with the game breaking bugs like constant crashes people have been experiencing from a bad exit off the game and the dirt tires no longer present on dirt challenges and license tests.

Hoping for a solid patch this week... 🙏
