Am i doing something wrong?

Hey,

i'm kinda new on GT world. I've played GT3 and then GT5 a few months ago. Bought GT6 and a DFGT wheel. Here i am, feeling lost.

- Why i feel the races are too damn easy? unlocked all the licenses except Super, i'm at Internacional A. But yeah...i win easily, sometimes i even have a lap of distance from some cars. Even if i make mistakes, i always get to the first position without any effort. This is normal? No esp or any electronic helps, btw. Should i stop tuning my cars with ecu3 and turbos, etc?


- Too much credits. I can afford any car i want, tune it and yeah.. no really challenging. Is this normal too?

- Damage...where is it? Srsly, i've done pretty bad wreckages and yeah...just keep going, just like nothing happens.

- Endurance races, can we suspend them, like the championships? Dont feel like im spending 24 hours in front of the screen...

- Why cant i drift? Its just too damn hard, i've followed tune guides, tutorials, but nope, just a lot of oversteering. Any tips to the beginners?

- Oil changes and etc. I dont drive a particular car that much to justify oil changes. Where do people drive mileages? Races are short, how can people reach even 1000 kms with a car?
 
You can often get a better race with lower specced tires or cars but the AI are really only rolling road blocks.

No damage (other than cosmetic) in single player. Multiplayer, it's on if you choose it.

Endurance races are only 24 minutes. Not 24 hours. The sun is like a shooting star.:lol:

No idea on the drifting. Can't stand it myself. Check the drift seasonal threads though. Loads of tips and advice in there by the experts.

Wait till you get your teeth into the time trials. I dare say some people put 1000km into a single event. I know someone once said they did 800km on one.

Really, forget single player. The AI is useless. Get online for a better experience.
 
Thanks for your reply. I forgot to add a thing... why the game doesnt have disqualifications? for instance, Suzuka circuit... the last chicane can be cut out... nothing happens. Should have somekind of penalties at least...
 
First: Because the level of difficulty on this game is not very high. It's not really difficult at all.

Second: Yes, it's normal. Not as high as the GT5 seasonals however.

Third: It isn't there until the Super class iirc.

Fourth: They're only 24 minutes. Don't worry.

Fifth: Try softer tyres, unbalanced tyres (harder on the rear than on the front), removing downforce and ensure you have TC turned off. Also just practice.

Sixth: Always change oil with a new car. You find about 5% extra bhp from it. It takes about 300km before the oil begins to take its toll on a car and you will notice a loss of power. When you do two-hour races online frequently, this means that an oil change will occur very frequently. I have well over 5000km logged in on my Peugeot 908 so far.
 
Oh, wait till you get online for the penalties. I'm not too sure about the lobby races but in quick match, they're rubbish. They work in the sense that a short cut will guarantee one but collision penalties can be completely random. Like 50-50 on who actually gets it without taking into account of who did what. Handy to keep a rabbits foot and a couple of four leaf clovers on the controller to improve your odds.:p
 
1- GT6 is a little arcadish which makes the things a lot easier than GT5;

2- Unfortunately, there is no real damage. What a shame.

3- Yes, it is normal, however, not for seasonal events.

4- I think that you can suspend the race, but don't worry about endurance races: They are just 24 minutes long.

5- You can drift but try to control the acceleration of the car while you exit the corner. You can consult the setups of Drifts.

6- When you buy a new car, it's recomended to change the oil. Your car will gain extra 5 HP's. When you do a lot of races with your favourite car, you'll reach 1000km easily.

The one i drive the most is GTR Nismo 2014 - favorite car so far! gonna change the oil!
 
1 - Gran Turismo 6 Career mode Races is the most easiest Gran Turismo "Career" mode ever, with such a slow going A.I that slow's down on the last lap.

2 - On the v1.0 it was too hard to get money but now it's way more easier but not like the money you get from GT5 seasonal event's.

3 - GT6 doesn't have a heavy damage look but it does have mechanical damage which can by only enabled in Online mode however.

4 - The Endurance races in GT6 is (again) the easiest Endurance races, it isn't even count as one. most races are just 20 minutes races with some 24 minutes races.

5 - It depends on the car, what wheel you using, if the driving aids are turned all off, The Car Tuning ...etc and most importantly: Your skills. Sadly however i can't help, you could ask others who have better knowing.

6 - Every time you buy a new car, make sure to change the oil to increase the BHP and after driving a lot, the car BHP will go down with time. Players Race in a lot of Career mode, Arcade mode, Online mode..etc in their favorite car and having fun with it so that's why people end up with 2,000+ Km.

1. The tuning restrictions are set very high, so you're allowed to tune a car much more than you actually need (for some 450pp events you're actually allowed to enter a car with 500pp). Also, the AI is using rubberbanding to adjust to your speed (and make sure you catch up). To get closer races you can try to reduce power or step down a few grades in tyres. Or you can go online :)

2. The Christmas / New Year seasonals had a great payout compared to other seasonal events, that might be why you feel like you have too much credits. But yeah, basically you just need to do one or two races to afford 90% of the cars in the game. If you have too much credits you can always buy a 20 million credit car. Or you can race online, where the payouts are rather small :)

3. There's only body damage in the career events. Mechanical damage is only available online. In my experience few people want to race with damage, but maybe there's a club out there for those who do. Check the community feature.

4. Endurance races are only 24 minutes, time is increased by a factor of 60. Proper endurance races are only available online.

5. The DS3 is much easier to drift with. I've had my DFGT for 5 years and I can't even get bronze with it at the drift trials. With the DS3 I get gold every time. So my tip is to abandon the wheel for the drift trials and use the DS3 instead. Unless you actually want to learn how to drift with the wheel, but for that I can't help you.

6. I've got most of my mileage online. Either in online races or in free run lobbies.

So in short: Online is the place to be :)
 
I'm sure I read a thread on here once where (I think it was a mod who wrote it) they only used prize cars (excluding the gift vision AMG) on the tires they come with and spending no money until they couldn't get any further.

Very nicely written article and sounded a much better challenge in the higher tier races. I did the same thing on a fresh account and it's like a new game doing it that way. I can't find the thread now though.

I did the same, and it was much more fun.

As for drifting, just set your wheel at 200°--it's much easier than 900°.

I'm no expert at tuning, but I easily gold the drift seasonals by adding all power mods (except nitrous), comfort hard tires (sometimes cm in rear), set top two LSD settings to 60, reduce downforce to min, camber 2.5/2.5 and toe -.15/-.15. Sometimes I tune the gearbox for closer ratios.

I have no idea whether these settings are anywhere near optimal, but they're good for gold in one or two passes in my mediocre hands.
