So since the last update I've played Sport mode loads more than I had been doing. My DR has gone from being a low C to a mid B and my SR from B to S. My last 6 races have all been clean as well.

Prior to the update I was super inconsistent. I'd have a good race followed by 2 or 3 poor ones.

So have I improved or has the game just got easier?

How does sport mode becomes easier? :D it's not an AI you race there against :D

What I found is that much less players play sport mode recently (in low A+).

I'm getting less penalties since the changes which have improved my results. Is the decline in the amount of penalties due to the changes made by PD or am I improving?

Interested to hear others views on their performance since the updates.

I also noticed this. I'm about to graduate to DR B (again), but I'm not there yet, and I got matched with several DR A drivers at Saint-Croix. Last night at Interlagos, I got matched with a few SR B drivers (mine is mid-S). There must've been a sizable revolt due to the change in the race structure.

This is off topic (and I apologise), but every time I see your post in a thread and I just glace at your avatar out of the corner of my eye, all I can see is Data off Star Trek... I'm even starting to hear Data's voice when I read your posts
I just had to ask Dr.Google who Data is. Lol, yes there is a similarity, I guess i‘ll Update that Pic, to not cause any more confusion In your Brain

haha please don't change it on my account, it always brings a smile to my face when I realise my mistake anyway
I totally agree with you on that one  Not a bad thing, I'd keep the pic to bring that little bit of confusion and humour!

Could be a whole heap of reasons;

New tyre model, cars are generally easier to handle.

Penalty algorithm has been tweaked, & is not as brutal as before.

There are less people playing because the Daily races are now Weekly races.

Many drivers don't play in the Dailies/Weeklies because they want to protect their ratings for the FIA races.

Or maybe, you've genuinely turned into a driving God!

Haha!!! A driving god is the answer I was looking for!!! Although that's probably not the case :lol::lol:

I was improving since 1.23, until yesterday when I tried the Gr.4 race at Nurburgring. First corner is complete hell and I went from DR/SR B/A to D/D after one race... a couple of errors on my part later on in the race, but almost impossible to get around the first few corners without getting rammed and incurring SR losses and penalties. Such a **** show.

You are improving because the game is getting better, the tyre model is better, the dirty players are leaving the game, etc etc etc. Why not passing by PD's facebook and saying thanks to them? They mostly get only crap, sure a bit of sugar makes their day.

I see a cooler version of Leonard Hofstadter

Good call re Facebook, I'll be sure to sweeten PD up!

According to the poll about daily races the game is only getting better for about 10% of the people, that means its the same or even worse for 90% of the people. If I stop by PD's facebook page it will not be to praise them. Forgetting about the daily race debacle lets look at another PD recent change, Less penalties, that is not what the community was asking for. The community were looking for 2 changes from the penalty system, #1 do not give the higher ranked driver the lions share of the penalty for the sole reason that he is the higher ranked driver. #2 do not penalize the victim with a time penalty. Apparently what PD "heard" was "players do not like penalties", I have no idea where they got this idea. Players had even suggested at which update the penalty system was most effective, yet all PD hears is "drivers do not like penalties". I dont know if there are more SR S players now but the one Sport Mode race I raced this week had 20 SR S drivers but the DR rank was DR A+ all the way down to DR D in my lobby, maybe that is a result of fewer players in Sport Mode, I dont know.

Can confirm sport mode AI has been reduced.

What exactly is Sport Mode AI ?????:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Are you possibly reading BigJimmy's thread about the unpleasant AI in Sport Mode??

There is no AI in Sport mode, it was clearly a joke.

Although, part of me wonders if the "aliens" are really a top-notch AI.

I know I am doing less sport mode these days. Especially when I feel it's a bad car/track combo. Like Race A this week. What the heck is that all about? Horrible handling car on a really bad track for a bad handling car.

Yes, penalties have pretty much been turned off now. Only when you bump someone hard off the track you still get a (smaller) penalty. Which means less penalties served during the race (which caused more incidents) and less people dropping to the back from penalties and forcing their way back to the top (which caused more incidents). So pretty much by no longer penalizing dirty driving, driving has become less dirty over all, or rather races have become less chaotic.

You still get SR deducted though, yet since there's now less movement in positions (due to less penalties being served and fewer fast people muscling their way back) there is also less contacts during the races.

It seems weeklies have also reduced the number of active sport players, which means the difference in speed between people entering the races has increased, which also means fewer chances at contact. That combined with people that do play now know the tracks better and get better at staying on the tracks, which means less incidents.

So indeed, by chasing people away and allowing dirty driving, PD has succeeded in turning the races more or less into organized parades after the lap 1 dust settles.

For my style of not qualifying and racing from the back, the higher spread in DR in races has been 'catastrophic' :) I'm no good at Interlagos, driving there the whole week in a sprint race, well see for yourself:

Just wait until Nord or N24 is on all week :D I'll be close to A+ at the end of the week, even without qualifying. It could still be months before that comes on though with 3 races a week...

Btw, I'm racing much less since the change as well. My average sport races since release was 13 a day. I hardly do half of that with the weeklies.

every time I enter a race I type into the chat room "BRING BACK THE DAILY RACES!"

I honestly didn't think the change to weeklies would effect my frequency but I haven't even really touched the game this week. I wasn't even vocal about being against weeklies as I was optimistic about the change.

Unfortunately though, it's quickly deflated their player base and now I find myself in some kind of accidental passive aggressive boycott.

I went from racing in 1 or 2 daily's a day, sometimes more, to racing the weekly's 1 each week so far. So anyone doesnt have to do any math I went from 18 sport mode races in that time span to 2 sport mode races so far. According to my math that is an 89% reduction, not only that but the races I did compete in were 100% SR S but the DR spread was DR D - DR A+, that seems pretty big to me.

I wonder if the A+ driver's eyes light up when they see they are in a room full of DR D drivers.
