Am I missing out by not doing the 20 million credit glitch?

Every online lobby I have joined there has been someone talking about the glitch and how to do it. I feel extraordinarily behind in the community in terms of cars acquired. Is it possible for PD to take action and somehow remove this glitch and revert profiles back to normal? If not, should I just join the party and get this over with? I feel at an extreme disadvantage in online races as you know 9/10 guys have a whole bunch of credits and the nicest cars/tunes as a result.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. PD might release an update to reset the credits that earned with the glitch. I mean who's gonna buy the credits with real money when you can get free 20 million credits?

Edit: Never mind. I've forgot about the fact that people would've spent the credits straight away lol

I have not started playing online yet since I'm working my way through the single-player game. I've decided to go bare bones. I'm seeing how high of a % completion I can attain by buying 0 cars and spending no money on upgrades. I'm at about 36% right now and have some 1.5 million in the bank. This has made the game very interesting: try using CS tires in a race against SS tires. o.0 I'm not missing out on anything by not doing the glitch: except perhaps losing save files, cars and such (but that may only be a rumor).

Anyways: Are you missing out? I would say you should do whatever it is that makes you be happy and have fun?

What's the difference between people who purchased everything with money and people who purchased everything with the glitch?
Blame PD.

They can try and do a credit reset, but I already bought all the cars and have 160 XJ13's sitting in the stockyard for some emergency cash.

Lol, that would be hands down the worst move by PD, it will be super controversial if they reset everyone's credits. Those that actually bought MT or earned it would endlessly complain.

I have friends that I played with that did the glitch. I myself haven't done it, but I grinded to earn my cars. I'm not feeling any difference in my experience, online included. If you want to play fairly, then join a fair lobby with restrictions or make your own. Thats what I usually do, but your not really missing out from my perspective (do I really need to earn the p330 Ferrari again?!). I am not going to tell you how to play the game, but theres not really any point to these 20m cars, the ferrari, jaguar and ford can be outmaneuvered by cars that cost 1/10 less than those.

If anything its just for collectability, and I'd rather just make some endgame purchase before leaving and go on to GT7.

One person is a poor man, the other might be poor as well, but probably much happier? :p

Maybe, maybe not.

I guess you have to compare the morality of deliberately exploiting a loophole in the system against the morality of Sony/PD trying to extort more money from you for content you've already bought (distorting the in-game economy in the process).

it's so tempting, but I won't risk it. I'm surprised that PD haven't issued a statement regarding this. It's a huge temptation for all of us which needs t be removed if there are going to be repercussions.

Why not have 2 accounts on your PS3?
One where you glitch and get the credits to buy the cars you've already paid for
The other where you play without the glitch!

PRICELESS man ! So it kinda comes down to, who is actually cheating who O.o

I think the glitch is more of a protest than anything, its popularity (here and possibly in the whole userbase) is a way of saying 'hey PD, we want more reasonable payouts in the game' and that were certainly not willing to pay actual money for some in game credits, its like buying all of the cars as DLC... Think about it, you buy the game, cannot buy some of the cars without days and days of straight playing, unless, you buy their special credits, then you can.

It's going to either make PD push the payments up and/or remove micro-transactions entirely, want to know why they haven't responded? High popularity.

Are you missing out? It'd still a great game, but there are heaps of high costing cars in here that you might not be able to afford without days of playing, so those 20 million credit cars there, they are something you're definately missing out on if you wanted to use them :/

No. You are not.

Might just be me,but I like actually playing the game and earning my cars instead of a cheap cheat 👍

Well, take the roughly 7 million you earn with career mode and then compare it to the roughly 1.1 billion you need to buy all cars… You can just start by comparing it to one 20 million credit car and continue from there.
That puts that glitch in a whole other light.

I for one would love it if the savedata were somehow "tagged" by the purchase of multiple copies of the same car prior to the deletion of the gamedata, only to be missing upon re-updating, making the user stick out like a sore thumb to any program designed to find cheaters and ban them from online play. Wishful thinking?

Using the glitch won't make you a better driver, so do whatever.

Why? What do the glitchers do to your game experience that you want them banned?

What a strange and vindictive post

I'm at 70% ish, maybe a little higher. The ammount of money you gain throughout the game is tiny, if you ever want a chance of owning some of the really expensive cars then you can't realistically acquire them right now without the glitch.

By realistically I mean that there is such a high ammount of grinding needed that most people just wouldn't have the time in the day to do it, you'd need to play all day everyday to even scratch the surface.

If they did that GT6 would be the last title I'd buy, it would mean I wouldn't be getting a PS4 either. Forcing us into Macrotransactions is the single worst thing that's happened to the series imo, & this glitch has given life & longevity to the game. I read one guy on here has completed the game already, without glitching, & only has 3 million credits. Like Baz said, it would take soooooooooooooooooooo long to even grind for one of the 20 mil cars, let alone all of them.

My advice is; back up your original data, then do the glitch. If they kill everyone's game saves, then just reload your original one. It's a win win situation.

I'm in two mind about this. I actually quite enjoy working my way through career mode and building a garage but I don't want to be in the situation where I can't afford a car or upgrades to competitively participate in a TT or race. And it looks like at the moment with some cars you need to spend more on chassis maintenance than you can gain winning races. I think I'm going to grab a few top-dollar cars as "insurance" but only use only prize cars and winnings for career mode.

I think PD/Sony deserve it for forcing microtransactions down our throats, best part is that they can't fix it since we're using the old update which cannot be updated anymore.

Its also like PD shot themselves in the craw by releasing such an unfinished product with a 1.2gig day 1 patch.

Or allow people to transfer their cars from GT5..

Probably never will be patched. To be completely honest, I doubt that there is any way to patch it in fact.

On the other hand, I will rather do this and still keep track of how much money I actually have so I can still do my career mode legitimately. I am not paying a ridiculous amount of money to get barley anything in return. I do not like PD's choice on the money cards. That is just stupid.

I hate to say this as I never glitch, but yes, you are missing out... I only did it once to explore more cars beyond award cars... But in reality if you do it a few times there is still plenty of content. All the cars are in the hundreds of millions.

It's not an accelerator at all, more of a boost that helps you enjoy the game with the cars you want... And it doesn't last long so it's more like a mild "power up".
