Nuts... I should've said "incontinent incompetent". Can I have a do-over?

I hope Stewart isn't next. Perhaps his ratings are better and CBS are hoping he'll be scared into taking a more compliant stance towards the I.I. with a larger reach and greater profits for Viacom than if he had received the axe instead of Colbert. Fat chance of that, though... I hope.

Unfortunately the problem with The Problem was that Apple leant on Jon and tried to force him not to do segments on China and AI and he ended up quitting. Were CBS to do the same thing he'd have to find a new home like Colbert.

It probably wouldn't bother him that much given he only came back to do just 1 show a week, and extended his initial contract for just 1 year so he can cover the next administration for a bit. At best, he'd just use it as new material to point out the hypocrisy of Paramount Global whilst he is the reason its ratings are back up & got them another Emmy.

Clearly Trump knows what's in "the Epstein files". That's a given. He's the guy behind the Resolute Desk.

What's interesting to me is that he's panicking and trying to prepare his base for the day when it all comes out by proactively claiming that Clinton, or Obama or Biden edited the files. And he's totally panicked about the WSJ story that he sent a birthday greeting with a sexually suggestive drawing to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. This has gone from "improbable" to "highly likely" in my mind.

May I commend today's episode of the "Pivot" podcast with Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway...

Best (and most likely) case is it gets dismissed at hearing under Florida statute requiring 5 days notice of civil action against a party for defamation, regardless of merit (as there is none here), which hasn't been satisfied. And I expect that was deliberate. The bitch can use this to rile up the base and claim victimization by a "rigged" system.

There's also a small chance a judge awards the defendant attorney's fees (better chance if the defendant petitions for such) under Florida's anti-SLAPP statute which applies even to federal suits like this one, where in literally any other state there would be no SLAPP relief for federal suits (there needs to be federal anti-SLAPP, but this is the next best thing).

And it could be dismissed with prejudice, meaning the plaintiff couldn't bring the suit again following procedure mandated by Florida statute (770.01, for those interested), if the judge recognizes the combination of frivolity and abuse, but I don't know how well that'd hold up if contested.

Sorry. The reason why I say that is he keeps trying to make it go away. The more he’s trying to distract, it’s just going to bring more to the party to keep eyes on whatever comes out of this.

I understand the buck stops with him and Bondi, but so much pressure is building up. Someone from his grand list of loyal subjects, is going to pop.

I think McLaughlin became an American citizen and he's married to an American woman. But that doesn't matter in Trump's America. Anyone at anytime can be detained and deported.

You'd think, but no. Jasmine Mooney (a Canadian actress) was detained by ICE. Fabian Schmidt, a German national, was also detained, along with Becky Burke from Wales. They're all white, so I don't think ICE really cares so much about skin tone since they're pretty much operating on the MO of "foreigners bad".

Just taking a simplistic view here, but i’m looking forward to when everyone other than native americans are forced out of america. Cos being born there counts for no right to be there anymore.

I just watched one of these 1 vs. 20 debates for the first time and some of the things being said on this instance were genuinely disturbing.



Feels really good to see the white guy claiming to be a native American get called out. I feel like most of the folks advocating for a tough stance on immigration conveniently "forget" that they themselves are descendants of immigrants as well.
Also, the guy who said that he's a fascist, advocated for autocracy and the abolition of free speech, ended up getting fired from his job.

I think she was one of those people who tried to argue immigrants aren't Americans, except for her mom and dad. Those weren't lefties holding up the red flags to vote her out.

A one hour forty minutes video is pretty long so I dipped in and out and watched Connor's segment in which he said free speech and democracy are only good for voting in people who want to end them as well as the green shirted guy Richie (who went up twice) and thought that white people are native Americans.
