Good point on the impeachments.
As for driving offenses, DUIs are a somewhat complicated area. They are typically considered criminal offenses, although this depends on the state. Like, I don't think it's exactly criminal for the first DUI offense in Wisconsin, but in Utah it definitely was a criminal offense.
As for being crooks. Nixon is absolutely a crook, despite whatever he says. His only saving grace was that Ford pardoned him. Harding was also a crook, but he had the good fortune to die before anything could happen to him. Both would've faced indictments and likely prison time had they not been saved through some kind of intervention. Weirdly, there is a small chance that Harding was actually poisoned by someone in the government, but because an autopsy was never done, we don't know for sure what the circumstances of his death were. Officially, it's cerebral hemorrhaging due to a stroke, but it could've also been a heart attack.
I do think most politicians are crooked, though. Maybe not convicted criminals, but the path to achieving power often requires you to be a shady individual. It would not surprise me if half of Congress were in the Epstein files as pedophiles. I'm sure most have either been involved in blackmail, extortion, bribery, insider trading, fraud, tax evasion, or a combination of them. Drug possession and solicitation are almost assuredly part of many politicians' alleged crimes as well, given the
stories of cocaine fuel orgies in DC.
I think it's likely fair to say all politicians (at least in America) are crooks. I don't think we should excuse them for it either. They should, if anything, be held to a higher standard since they're supposed to be leaders. And yes, given what we know, Trump is the biggest crook of them all and deserves to be treated like one.
