I think even though I'm such a Lizard fan, I have a feeling the Corvettes will be very strong. They were right up there at Sebring right until that stupid mistake they made. I'm eager to see how close the Corvettes and M3s will be with the Lizards and Risi cars.

On that, I just received the news that I have free from Uni on Monday, which means I can go through the night here to follow the entire Laguna race! 👍

Sadly I missed the Sebring race this year, but I've since watched highlights, and you're right, the Corvettes were right on there. Since the Corvettes moved to GT2 (I was out of GT racing when that happened, could someone give a brief explanation why they moved from GT1 to GT2?), they, the 911s and the Ferraris have been going head-to-head on a very level pegging, much like they were with the Aston Martins back in GT1.

The M3s are interesting, as they are almost like a really fast touring car, unlike the other cars which are out-and-out sports cars. It's good to see a different shape in the mix.

Awesome! I'm alright as well as the way my study periods fall in sixth form, I have a free Monday every 2nd week, and next week is the week which that free day falls, so I'll be alright :)

The Corvettes moved to GT1 because no one else could afford to run a car in GT1 and be competitive against the vettes. So after a year of having no competition they decided it was better for the brand to move to GT2. that's basically it in an nuthell.

who here is planning to actually, physically going there to see this??

I am very well tempted to go.... damn prior engagements! I should just drop them?!

That makes senee. Their only real competition in GT1, if I remember, were the Aston Martins when they were around, so it seems logical for them to drop into GT2 and battle head-to-head with the Ferraris and Porsches, as they are doing 💡

Thanks for the explanation! :)

Live morning warm-up on-line now, good time to sign up or test your connection

Logged in, outstanding video quality! 👍

May I give a heads-up that Safari will not open the video players. When you log in, the video players should be embedded into the webpage and start playing. This is where Safari does not show the video players.

Dirk Muller has made a mess of that.

I hope Ferrari's race pace isn't as good as their qualifying pace.

Fingers crossed they can get the BMW repaired in time, it may have looked worse than it was, although they did say it's losing fluids from the engine. Never a good sign just a few hours before the race.

Damn, mustve missed that! I've just arrived at my nan's house, stream isn't the best quality but it'll do for sure!

What exactly happened to the Bimmer? I'm presuming it had a major off...:( Never good for someone to have to bail out before the show's even begun.

Dirk got out wide on the dust and had a big off, wiping out the front and rear of the car, he managed to drive it back to the pit's under it's own steam but it looked really bad.

Edit to add it was the #90 BMW M3 GT

Woah! I thought it was +6 hours for us, so we'd be kicking off around 8pm GMT? Hmm...(collects together cans of Red Bull and cups of coffee)

All good practice for LeMans :)

Is the race going on now? I'm trying to watch but the stream isn't loading.

No, they showed this mornings 20minute warm up session, streaming starts in 2hrs 20 minutes

That means 11PM for me, then. Oh well, it's Sunday tomorrow and I have free on Monday so I've got all the time in the world for sleep anyhow :p

Same scenario for me Bram - got no periods at all on Monday, so I'm good to go :D

How did the Ford GT and Jag XKR go in practice?

Actually a Porsche brings up the rear of the GT field. some how Law/Niemans/Bernhards #44 ended up 31st on the gird in the middle of the GTC class. must of had some major problems in qualifying for a lizard to end up that far off the pace.

Anyone else having trouble getting the stream to load? I've tried in 3 different browsers now and I still can't get it to work.:grumpy:

@ NapoleonMickey, I didn't look that far down, they really really need to pull their finger's out.

The streams not active for another 50mins

Isn't the steam starting in an hour from my post? I'm in GMT+1, and its almost 10pm here, so the stream should start at 11pm?

It started a couple of minutes ago for me. Dancing ladies at the moment:lol:

Same here, a bit of drum and bass

And the Flying Lizards had better pull their finger out for the race :(

Nothing to worry about. The Melo/Bruni car ran a 1:22.8 lap, whereas the #45 Lizard ran a 1:23.5. 7 tenths a lap over a distance of 6 hours is nothing considering one mistake can put you in the pits for 15 minutes. I'm pretty sure the #44 Lizard had difficulties because a 1:28 lap isn't normal. Again, nothing to worry about. Looks like I was right about the 'Vettes though 👍

I'm also looking forward to see what the Falking Porsche will do. They were running really good at Sebring, and the livery looks awesome so perhaps they can feast upon one another's misfortune.

*EDIT* What's with the fat chick dancing on the grid?

So its actually 10pm GMT+1 then.
