Hi everyone.
I was wondering if anybody would be interested in running an ALMS online racing series.
Before reading all this note that for now this is just an idea.
If I get enough people that are interested, I will notify everyone interested via PM and start a new thread/social group.

If you are interested, please notify me through a PM.
Make the subject for this PM "ALMS"

It would most likely be weekly.
For most likely about 4-10 weeks. I'll post a poll if enough people are interested.
Probably on the weekends.
Time would be about 9 PM EST. Can be flexible.
Don't necessarily need to be American. But this is the region that the sceduling would be centered around.
Most likely be 30 minute races. As opposed to a set number of laps.
2 classes running at the same time, just like in the real ALMS.
Tracks would be centered around tracks in the ALMS tour.
Although that only includes Laguna Seca :(
Therefore, I will only be choosing from the World Circuits section and from there will have a poll.

Two classes would be LMP and GT...

LMP:
Audi R10
Audi R8 Racecar '08
Peugeot 908
This is just off the top of my head, so suggest a car and I may or may not add it

GT:
Corvette ZR1 RM
Dodge Viper Team Oreca
BMW GTR/GTR Race Car
Same as LMP

Please post if you're interested or have any suggestions.

Oh no, this isn't set up yet just an idea.
I can add more cars too if you'd like.
If I can get ten more people I'll be happy.
I'll PM everyone and start a new social group.
Then we'd start racing.
 
What if I offered a prize car to the winner.

I am totally in. ALMS is one of my favorite racing series. I think I will for GT.

What other cars can we throw in here? Regulations?
 
Suggest one and that may fit in with this series.

Ive decided to start a new social group which I'll do tomorow.

Just read above that your looking for help setting it up. Well lets see. I think GT should be limited to somewhere between 500 and 600 HP. Don't know about weight, but I think we can probably get most of the touring cars in this (maybe?)

For LMP, i think pretty much the Audi R10 and the Peugeot 908 are = performance. Maybe some of the other, older le mans cars could work, don't recall any specs right now.
 
I'm looking mainly for cars that have competed in the ALMS or le mans b
I might run a classic race mid season.
Yes that would mean putting miles on your stock 330 P4 :)
 
lol, its all good, I already put miles on my Mark IV for the Historic Race, so I'm down for that as well.

Shame we can't get an GT3RSR's in this. We could include some tuned Ferrari 430's (the scudaria which can have aero added to it that is)

Cool cool. Last thing off the top of my head for GT is the Z06 RM. Other than that I'll get back to you. gtg, hopefully, this takes off and we can get some fun racing in 👍
 
I'm so in, I love these cars and cant get enough. Should we specify wether we intend to race LMP or GT?

Not the DTM CLK touring car, The AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR race car. It raced at Le mans and won the 1997 FIA GT Championship.
I will check out the thread and I have a few friends who should sign up tomorrow.
 
I am SO in on this! car/LM class TBD, but count me in!

American LM is one of my fave series, and the cars are amazing, so, um, YA!

Do a search for GTPLMS and go from there.

Though I'm sure GTMSA is going to do this in the future too. Too many racing series at one time tends be a bad bad thing.

Isn't the CLK-GTR the one that flipped at Le Mans in '99 (not positive about the date)?

Sounds like a great idea but we don't have all the tracks that the ALMS series runs on like Road Atlanta to mention one of them. That to me would be the fun part running on tracks I am familiar with.

Got 5 people 1 more pending that have joined the group.
This means that there are 5 people 1 pending that are interested in racing the league.
Looking to have a total of 8 people.
I'm hoping to run these races on the weekend.
About 9:00 EST so more people can race withe the time zone change.
Which day? Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
