    AMERICAN RACING LEAGUE (ARL)

A majority of us have raced in online lobbies that have been a free-for-all, everyone bumping, cutting others off, dive-bombing, etc. Here lately we have entered those kind of rooms and in our experience it really kills the fun of racing when that happens. We would like to suggest a race series that will keep with the clean traditions, structured while still being competitive & mixing up a few things we personally think might be fun that GT SPORT has added. This series is open to anyone and everyone as long as the connection doesn’t cause a problem, there won’t be any livery restrictions, and so everyone doesn’t end up racing the same car we are limiting the car selection to only 2 of the same car (list of cars below) under the first come first serve method. We have noticed most series run month to month one thing that does is really handicap you if you miss a week because let’s be honest life happens and should always come first. With that being said this series will run in 3 month increments so if something does come up and you miss a week or two it won’t kill your season like it would running month to month. This series will be taking place on Saturday nights hopefully starting at 10 P.M. (central). I will be live streaming these races on YouTube JD Clark and welcome anyone else that would like to stream it as well. Please read the provisions below and we hope to see this series take off and become a staple for some good Saturday night racing. If you have any questions feel free to message me on GTPLANET @TexasJDC

*rules are subject to change and are not final just yet as a group we will tweak what needs to be and improve this league as we see fit.

    REGULATIONS
    A
. Saturday night race lobby opens at 10 PM central us time
    B. 3 month season
    C. Car selections will be limited to only 2 selections of the same car (1 selection per driver only)
    D. GR.3 Cars
    E. BoP set
    F. Fuel and tire wear will be on
    G. Tires will be open to choose whichever race tire you want (RH,RM,RS,RSS) and can change at any stage of the race
    H. Race damage will be on heavy ( meaning if you damage your car to the point it flashes red on the indicator you will need to pit to fix damage)
    I. Timed qualifying 15 minute
    J. 40 minute race (until gts fixes timed races we will be driving laps that equal or get as close as we can to a 40 minute race)
    K. False start check
    L. Tuning and aids will be turned off with the acceptation of ABS
    M. Brake ballast will be the only tuning allowed
    N. Liveries are up to the drivers but must include racing number and be posted in main thread before race night

    P. The last race of the month will be a WILDCARD race.
    Q. Any driver who has not signed up may not participate until they have signed up, any driver who signs up after 8:30 PM. Saturday afternoon Central time will be able to race the following week
    R. Good race craft is a MUST

    QUALIFING
    A
. 15 minute qualifying session to determine the grid order (fastest first)
    B. If a driver enters after the qualifying session after the session has started they will be automatically placed last on the grid. (example: if qualifying starts with 8 drivers and the 9th driver enters and qualifying already started then that driver will be 9th on the grid for the race)
    C. The tire compound you set the fastest qualifying lap on is the tire compound you MUST start the race on (example: if a drivers fastest lap is set on RS the driver must start the race on RS but may change to which ever compound the driver wants to chose once they make their first pitstop). If a driver is caught not using the tires that the driver set the qualifying lap on their laps will be invalid.

    RACE
    A
    . False start check
    B. 40 minute race (or laps totaling 40 mins until gts fixes time races)
    C. Fuel and tire wear will be on
    D. Damage will be on
    E. Flags will be on and strictly enforced

    RACE NIGHT LAYOUT
    • 10:00-10:15 (central) room opens/free practice
    • 10:15-10:30 (central) Qualifying
    • 10:30-11:30 (central) Race ( extra 20 minutes for random stuff that might occur in the lobby, connections, sorting grid, small break or whatever the case may be)
    20190114_154423.jpg
    1 additional point for pole
1 additional point for fastest lap
1 additional point for winner of the month

    WILDCARD
This is something we hope will set us apart from any other race series. This idea was brought up by a current driver and we have to admit, we really like it. The wildcard will be selected by the lowest driver in points standings, designated as FULL-TIME, and lowest DNF %. The driver will pick a 1-make race that will keep with the ARL rules (BoP,Fuel consumption, Tire wear, Damage, ect.) the choices for the wildcard race are as followed. The lowest driver can only have 1 wildcard selection per season if the same driver is up for the wildcard 2 times in the same season the choice will default to the next lowest driver meeting the guidelines mentioned above.

ARL WILDCARD RACE Rules and Regulations:

The following guidelines will be implemented ASAP to bring some structure and regulation concerning the ARL Wildcard Races. As you all know, these three (3) events hold significant importance and value during the ARL season, as double championship points are on the line.

To make this fair and rewarding for our active drivers, the BOD (Board of Directors) will be making the following changes starting with the next Wildcard Race (scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd, 2019).

    • Wildcard Races are an exclusive event in the ARL. To reward our FULL-TIME drivers, they will be given priority when setting up the initial grid of drivers. In other words, if your status is FULL TIME by the Wildcard Race weekend, you will be guaranteed a spot on the grid.

    • The balance of the grid will then be set by our PART TIME drivers.

    • In the event we have more than 16 FULL TIME drivers prior to any Wildcard Race weekend, two (2) lobbies will be established to accommodate AND REWARD ALL DRIVERS.
    • Lobby placement will be randomized amongst the FULL-TIME drivers, followed by the PART TIME drivers.
    • You MUST announce your intent to race the Wildcard no later than the THURSDAY of the event. This will allow adequate time for grid and lobby determinations. If you do not state by Thursday, then you will not be considered for the event.
    • Your intent to race announcement should be made on the GTPlanet forum or the PSN group chat.
    • PART TIME driver eligibility will be based on current point standings, allowing the driver with the most points priority on the grid, followed by the next highest, etc.
    • Starting position on the grid will be set by reverse championship point standings, with the lowest FULL-TIME driver on the pole. Subsequent positions (2-16) will also be based on point standings and driver status (FT/PT).
    • All FULL-TIME drivers will be placed on the grid ahead of PART-TIME drivers, regardless of point standings.

    A. Driver must select a car class from GR.1, GR.2, GR.3 or GR.4 for the group to run
    B. Car must be equal to or less than 1,000,000 credits
    C. Track selection is the same as stated in ARL (everything is open except Nurburgring 24H, Nurburgring Nordschleife, & dirt tracks)
    D. Wildcard must be picked no later than 10:30 P.M. (central time) on the Tuesday of wildcard race weekend. If a combo has not been picked by that time the choice will then move to the next driver on the list
    E. Try to be as specific as you can when making your choice. (example: full name of car, full name of track, time of day, conditions).
    A. Reverse grid (last in total points is on pole - leader in total points last in grid)
    B. Double Points night for every driver who completes the race (along with the DNF Rule)
    C. No qualifying just a extended practice till race starts
    D. All drivers need to be in room no later than 10:25 central for grid sorting purposes.
    E. If there is a instance we need more than 1 room we will divide the using excel to randomly select drivers to rooms (only way I see it being fair to everyone)

    PENALTY SYSTEM
The penalty system for this league will be based on points deducted. For any driver who commits a penalty depending on the severity of the penalty will have points deducted off of their season points. If the penalty is so severe that may mean suspended for the season/suspended indefinitely.
    • 3 POINTS - causing minor damage to another drivers car, unsafe re-entry, cutting corners to gain a advantage
    • 6 POINTS - dive bomb, making a pass using out of bounds, not adhering to flag rules, blocking/weaving
    • 9 POINTS - causing major damage to another drivers car, not conceding spot if you have ran another driver off track/ bumped them going into a corner
    • 12 POINTS - intentionally hitting another driver, retaliation, dive bomb with no intention of using the brakes
    • 15 POINTS - intentionally trying to wreck other drivers, driving wrong way on the track, pretty much being a jacka$$ i dont see many of us having a problem with this major point deduction because overall this is a clean group of drivers but you never know when you might have to use this penalty
Penalty points will reset at the start of each season. With that being said directors will take into consideration past season’s penalties when making any further rulings for future infractions so please drive clean and respectful.

    INCIDENT REPORT (IR)
This is just a reminder on how to file an IR and what happens after a IR is filed. First I want to thank everyone for showing for the most part some good clean racing but every now and then there are times were an IR needs to be filed. I also save every replay after the race. Once an IR is filed the BoD will get together in a group chat and go over the IR or any issue brought to our attention. Once a ruling has been determined I will personally message the results to both parties involved. When filing a IR private message me on either GT Planet or PSN messenger following the IR rules and guidelines provided. Failure to do so on these formats will result in IR being dismissed for failure to comply with IR rules. if there is a complaint, a driver has until Tuesday night 10 Central time zone to message me the following week after the race about a penalty.
HOW TO FILE A INCIDENT REPORT
    • Private message me at @TexasJDC or if you do not have a GTP account message me on PSN TexasmostHated
    • Subject should be titled IR Race#

Message should include the following for review:

    • Driver reporting IR
    • Driver or drivers having IR filed against them
    • Who was effected
    • A Time stamp of when the IR occurred
    • Where the IR occurred
    • Description of what happened that caused the filing of the IR
    • If you have pictures of the incident please include them with IR submission

    FULL/PART-TIME STATUS
At the start of the season all drivers will be set to full-time status. in order to keep full-time status a driver must complete 75% of the races. special exceptions can be made if the directors determine so. something like driver loosing connection or most of us have young ones and sometimes life happens and like previously stated should always come first, i dont think its right to remove a fulltime drivers status giving those reasons

    RACE NIGHT PROCEDURES

We as a group have got to implement confirmation before the race into a routine to avoid mass confusion going into the race. Nog3861/@Nick Cannella has asked weekly for drivers to verify their status on racing that Saturday and has for multiple weeks been forced to sacrifice his qualifying session and practice due to last minute entries. I know it seems like a small detail but we need to take into account that he also has to update the scoresheet, split lobbies for every non-confirmed entry and still start on time. Starting on time is very important for the east coast guys on a normal night starting at 10:30 central means they are starting at 11:30 EST finishing around 12:30 EST on a perfect night. So with that being said we are going to ask from now on any driver wanting to race Saturday night to please confirm their intentions to race or not race by 9:30 central time. When confirming you are planning on racing we ask that you tag @Nick Cannella and @TexasJDC into the confirmation to avoid any oversights. If a driver does not confirm their intentions prior to the 9:30 central cut-off they will be asked to leave and honestly I hope I don’t have to ask anyone to leave I really don’t want that but we must follow the guidelines. PSN conformation is only valid if a driver does not have GT Planet and cannot get GT Planet(M1SS-D3V10US & Grim_has_wifi are the only exceptions at this point). If for any reason a driver does not have a GT Planet account please get in contact with me and I will do whatever it takes to get you signed up (PSN TexasmostHated) or pass the word along to nog3861 so he is informed as well if you can’t create one.

*exceptions can be made to this rule if we have prior knowledge and the BOD agrees to wave this but I would not expect it to be on very many occasions as this would be considered a “special circumstance”

    DISCONNECTS/STUCK ON GRID
    -

With the recent update on GT Sport there have been many instances a driver getting stuck on the grid (including myself). Hopefully this will not be a problem going forward but until GT Sport fixes this problem we will need to adapt a rule for being stuck or disconnecting. The rule we are putting in place for the time being is that if a driver gets stuck on the grid we will restart if problem persist we will ask the driver to clear cache and restart PS4 then rejoin the lobby, if the same driver is still having issues we will ask that driver to leave for the night and issue last place points to the driver/drivers for that race. It really sucks being stuck on the grid and I want everyone to race each week but at the same time we can’t restart more than twice for the same driver it’s not fair to the others and I’ve noticed that’s when we go from starting at 10:30 and having issues to starting at 11 or later it really hampers the east coast guys.

I am interested but I may be late sometimes. There's the IRS SuperBug Series that's Saturdays at 9pm EST (8pm CST) and this will start at 11 EST. If things stay on time I think it will be close but I can do both and stay up late.

I'm interested. I'll pick my car a little later, so I can be certain about what I want to race. I assume they'll be locked in for the season?
