Ok guys I was just wondering which one is your favorite and why? I personally prefer imports over American cars. I do like some American cars such as the zr1 and srt 10 viper. But Its just something about imported cars that I like more. Which do you prefer?

I prefer imports. American cars don't have much of the racing style and performance that foreign cars have. There just boring, unless it's raw power such as the SRT10 ACR, simply the best american car in the game.

Now when you say imports do you mean asian makes ? or are you including european cars too?

I prefer classic american cars for the brute power and styling lines, then european cars for their smooth looks and power and handling. I look at asian cars as street racers mostly.

To my country, all cars are imports. Just classed by continental (Americans and Europeans), Asians (JDMs, Koreans)

Where do you click if you're Swedish and you only like to drive Saabs and Volvos?

Yeah. I was pointing out the flaw in his question. ;)

This is a global forum, you know.

Hehe fail thread.

To the OP: both? I love British cars but some Americans are really enjoyable such as Pontiac GTO (both old and new) and Vettes.

All the cars on GT5 are imports where I reside, though, I like both US and Japanese cars if that's what you mean. I wouldn't say I have a preference.

Having read the BMW M3 CSL description which reads something like "The suspension was designed to be faster than the power plant", I feel American performance cars are designed reversed to this, if that makes sense. They put the biggest most powerful engine they can in a car which does not seem to handle the power very well. Don't hate me, just my .02 cents.

American cars are becoming pretty good handling cars these days. But in the old days out was all about pure off the line power.

Look up pro touring cars and see how they are making these old muscle cars handle. Pretty good stuff.

American car's are now very strong competitors,if you live in the US there are really few reasons to buy an import.Just look at Ford, there's a reason they turned from massive losses to a profit. And that's without any government help. And if im not mistaken Chrysler and GM are coming back too.Plus I just love a V8.

This. 👍

I feel embarrassed for you.

And the OP come to think of it.

Its only classified as an import in your context if you live in the US. In case you hadn't wondered, we aren't all from the US. So in for example my case, you have essentially asked, 'which do you prefer - import or import'.

American cars are build for straight roads, in addition to being build to last the average age of an american car, which is like 3years or something. Quality wise, the american cars suck. Handling wise, american cars suck.

Even their luxury offerings are pathetic, they drive poorly, bad comfort and the build quality makes you wanna cry. (Try a S-class\7-series\A8 vs a cadalliac or whatever)

For track use, in general. american cars have worse cornering abilities than my grandma on a skateboard. However, lately there has been a revolution, where corvette has taken their cars for testing on the nurburgring instead of an oval. This has improved handling singificantly.

European cars lead the way (cant say much about japanese, as i have never really driven anything interesting from japan).

You mean.. like.. other countries outside the USA exist? And they like... are able to use the internetz too??

NO WAI!!

I know you are joking, but you get a lot of funny questions being a turist in america.

A swiss friend of mine was asked if they have electiricty.

Being a norwegian, a popular question is if we live with polar bears in igloos.

Which is quite funny, when both countries, measured per capita, are super rich compared to usa.

i know wat u mean ive seen a 300c and vette start to melt in the sun and the fumes aint good
and its because the workmanship is shoddy

Import. Of course, americans have some appeal in them, especially the Mach 1 Mustang, but it's not enough to beat the supreme handling, power and style of others. I do like some muscle cars, though.

It's not so bad. I live in Russia and everyone believes there are bears walking around the streets, drinking vodka and playind on balalaica. I'm so sick of it.

ZR-1, Z06, CTS-V, ACR, the 2011 Mustang GT, or for that matter the new Boss 302 would all like to have a word with you. Heck, even the Cobalt SS is a little rocket around a road course, especially considering it's essentially just a FWD economy car.
I feel like a lot of people formed their opinion of American cars decades ago and haven't checked them out again.

I can't really decide on one pole option or the other, depend on my mood or the type of car I'm thinking of I could easily pick a British car, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, American, just about anything. Where it comes from and the badge on the hood doesn't really mean much. These days most everything is built from parts that were made all over the place, and assembled in a couple more, then finally shipped to the final build location and then dubbed a "German" car, just because of the badge. As long as the car does a good job doing what it was designed to do it will have my attention.

I do hope you're joking. Between you and Shmorgusborg I'm losing what little faith I have in Americans becoming less ignorant.
Have you driven any of those cars you posted? Aside from the Z06 all those cars are slugs in the slalom. And Cobalt?? are you serious?? The understeer on that sloppy machine will make a driver suicidal. Not to mention it could stand to go on a diet, accelerating out of turns can be had faster by a paraplegic turtle.
How did a poorly planned poll like this end up in Q&A anyways??
My vote is, every car manufacturer has it's perks and needs work.
