Well I want to get the 24 Hrs Nurburgring configuration and I need to gold all the AMG School at the Intermediate level, the problem is than Right Now I've gotten Silver in every event and I'm really getting frustated because I can't get any gold, I'm Using a Dualshock 3, so Any suggestion to reach my goal?

Also here comes my first complain with the game: Why if in previous GT you could get all the tracks after some days, now you have to gold an Special Event than is almost impossible without a Wheel?:indiff:👎

Its not impossible with a wheel ... I went through the events and got a mostly gold and a few silver in them, the silvers I just kept trying until I got gold which didnt take an amazing amount of time but it took long enough. Just keep trying thats all that you can do.

My suggestion: Buy a wheel. The game is more fun with it and these challenges are easier. I golded the SLS AMG expert event on my first go by 15 seconds. It's a lap of the 'ring in the wet

Try booting up GT4 and practicing the Nurburgring there.

I suppose its for beginners to get acquainted with the track, sector by sector. It is a driving school, after all.

The problem is than I had to take my car (in real life) to the mechanical garage so I just expent a lot of money to fixed it and now I don't have the money to buy it :guilty:

anyway, thanks for the advices I'll be trying again

I did all the AMG tests with the DS3, and again with the DFPro, usually golding them on my first clean run. The trick is to use the first four tests to get to know each individual corner; it'll take a while, but push and you'll be surprised at how much speed you can get out of each turn. A half second here and there quickly adds up by the end. I imagine there's at least one or two videos out there on Youtube by now, try looking for those.

The Nurb's a heck of a lot of fun once you've memorized it 👍

imho this challenge is one of the hardiest to gold (with the Grand Tour Alfa@Eiger and Murcielago@Toscana). PD required you go as faster in the traffic for an entire lap as you can go through single sectors without traffic. :scared:

On my first tries I failed to gold it for 5-6 seconds.

The trick is all in overtaking slow cars as fast as you can. If I'm not wrong you have to be able to overtake all but two (correct me if I'm wrong) before Karoussel. If you succeds in doing it, fly through Hohe Acht, Wippermann, Eschbach, Brunnchen..... the car has a very high downforce. Avoid flatting out at Pflantzgarten III. Avoid trying to be too fast at Tiergarten.

Sure you have to master the track quite well before golding challenge.
Sure you have to restart every time you loose time overtaking a car (ie hit bumper or so)

Another time, correct me if I'm wrong....

The problem with the challenges is that there is no ghost. Without a ghost car you cannot really tell where you faster or slower compared to previous attempts. If there was a ghost car, you would learn faster.

I'll state the obvious first, turn off all driver aids. If you already have done then ignore that.

My tip if you're using a pad instead of a wheel is learn to be as light with your left thumb as possible, I've got all gold in these events using a DS3 and it just takes a bit of practice.

Does the 24 track include night racing in arcade mode without weather?
If you mean can you turn the weather off, no, the weather is completely random. The only way to disable weather is to go into your Lounge and create your own personal lobby where you can set options for time of day/weather.

I've long since gold all the tests leading up to the 1-lap challenge. But I can't gold that last challenge to save my life.

To do the Nurburgring, you have to turn off ASM, even if you struggle to keep it in a straight line. If you turn off all assists including TC, ASM and Active Steering, it's astounding how much faster you are. I was really struggling to land gold on intermediate, but as soon as I turned off ASM, I could easily get gold.

Another thing is that you have to know the track inside out and you need to develop your own racing line because the next two AMG events, you have to complete them without the racing line.

Those 1 lap battles can be daunting but you must find open areas to pass the other cars. Slipstreaming works well here and you must stick to the left hand side of the track as the slower car (sometimes) moves to the right to let you past. Take it one sector at a time and know exactly what gear you need to be and it should be easy (at least it was for me)

I golded that with the Dualshock controller.

Does a wheel really make that much difference? I've always been a little apprehensive about buying a wheel because I tried a third-party wheel with GT4 and found there to be a lot of latency in the steering, then suddenly 'full lock'.

Sell it to me (not literally)....

i did this even the advanced 300SL wet with a DS3

dont use brute speed, go at 60% at first then start speeding up slowly

7~9km are hard, dont push it

I have the exact same problem. I golded all of the individual sectors, but cannot come close to golding the full lap. And I really don't see where I can improve that much. I'm talking like 12 seconds. And I've seen videos but I can't keep the car on the track taking the corners so fast. Been trying over a week (on and off of course) and not getting any better.:grumpy:

Stay in the middle of the track, break early, accelerate gradually. Take a very smooth and deliberately slow racing line. I was surprised how easy the gold was to achieve on this challenge.

If you can get gold in each sector, you are perfectly capable of getting gold on the full lap. Hopefully you understand each corners's quirks and what gear you need to be in. Take each sector one at a time, remembering exactly what you did to get gold.

One the full lap, they allow you extra time to get gold which is needed to pass the other cars. WHen going for a pass, move to the left and make sure you have enough room. If you hit a car, it's not the end of the world and it is still possible to achieve gold. If you run off the track and lose precious speed and time, you're going to have to restart the lap. Turn off all assists, especially ASM and TC (unless in the wet, set TC to 1). These assists slow you done immensely.

Slipstreaming does help get past cars and is useful to gain speed. Also, the corner before the straight must be done perfectly. Break slightly for the first part of the corner and adjust your throttle accordingly. If you understeer, you could run off the track and your lap is effectively ruined and if you oversteer and apply power, you could lose control. Remember that corner is very important to build up as much speed for the straight.

At the end of the long straight, don't go through the next set of corners flat out as you may survive the first 2 corners, the tight right-hander just before the final corner is very tight and it is a shame to ruin a lap right at the end. All in all, practice makes perfect and remember that assists are your enemy!

The full laps are easier than the individual sectors..

Like I'm almost 30 secs under gold time here:

While the sectors were never more than 3'ish seconds..

I managed to do a 7.04.xx in the SLS after about 15 attempts.

When I started the event I thought PD confused the numbers and that it would be impossible to get this time (7.05 Gold) but I was wrong...

It is actually possible. And I used my DS3 btw...

(You HAVE to be ahead of the RED Mercedes before the "Karussell" ! If not.. restart..)

Yes.

Don't worry OP, you'll get it eventually. Took me a good 3 days or so to finally Gold the full lap. Just practicepracticepractice.

that's a shame...
will take me a while to get gold, I just missed silver by 0.6 seconds

I golded the intermediate yesterday (though I have a wheel, that's easier). Took me a while though. I managed it even with a big mistake in the braking point after the final long straight.
For reference, try to get below some sector target times such as:
Quiddelbacher Hohe: 46"5XX.
Sector 1: 1'21"
Ex-Muhle: 2'40"
Sector 3: 5'03"
The overtaking points also serve as a good reference as to whether you're quick enough or too slow.

I got all silver both beginner and intermediate. Im using a wheel and its still damn hard to get gold. fuuu i'll get there though :)
