Well, I just got my USB drive in this morning (never had a compatible device before (external hard drive, digital camera didn't work)). It's a nice little drive, decent capacity at a good price. I had intended holding out for a 2 gig one, but got a little impatient. Here's the drive I went for.

Anyway, on to the pics...

Obviously not having a compatible device in the past has meant I've not paid Photomode much attention, so the following pics were taken basically in my first hour and a half of using Photomode (and most of that was spent driving the cars about :D ). There aren't that many at the moment and they're obviously not the best, but constructive criticism is much appreciated.

edit: Taken another few shots :)

I've been trying out taking the same shot at different brightnesses to find what looks best. Some of the pics that follow are examples where I couldn't pick one single brightness that I liked best. I've also been experimenting with the shutter speed to see what works best. Again, input/constructive criticism is very welcome 👍

edit: Ok, another update. These pics were taken for the Photomode Competition.

Sweet pics! 👍 I bought a USB drive for this purpose too, but haven't put it to full use yet...

The pic of the M3 GTR sliding round the corner at Tsukuba in the wet is lovely  ... I think most of your pics could do with bumping up the brightness a touch, either in Photomode itself or better still in photoshop or something... there's loads of tips and tricks available (as you no doubt know already), but for me, I prefer to keep it simple, as it can become a very time consuming process! (this is why I stopped doing the photomode comp, since you start to obsess over little details)...

As for the gallery, stick a link to this thread in your sig 👍 ... I like the idea of Franz's gallery (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=67788&page=3&pp=20) where he concentrates on one car at a time...

Look forward to seeing more...

Cheers,
TM

edit: I've found that my pictures looks much lighter on my telly than it looks when I post them on here - **** telly though :sly:

Thanks :)

I see what you mean about the brightness. The only one I changed the brightness of ingame was the second pic of the Mine's Skyline (my favourite of these first pics). In the future I'll take a few of each pic at different brightness levels then pick which one looks best.

I had a very quick look at this topic to get a bit of advice, but I'm still trying to figure out for myself what I like.

Franz's gallery looks amazing, very realistic pics with some good treatment in Photoshop (not too much).

Anyway, off to take a few more pics :)

Franz is a bit of a bad example for us beginners (in the best possible way) because he's a photoshop expert and a generally brilliant photomoder, as is jmx2222 whose gallery is simply awesome (excuse the Americanism, but in this case it's justified!)

Yeah, I know what you mean. His image editing skills are very impressive 👍

Added a few more pics now, see the edit attached to the first post for the reason there are quite a few similar looking pics there
