Ok, I've been trying to find info on this car but it appears to be very difficult. According to PD, the '04 version had 394bhp yet when you purchased it, it ended up with almost 600hp. Then you also have the GT1 Turbo in the Amuse GT5 dealership. Are they the same car?

Also, it seems as if the "Amuse" S2000 is only in reality a bodykit for the standard Honda S2000 and that the complete car was never finished due to the death of the person who was working on making the car a reality.

So, is the Amuse 2000 GT1 a theoretical and/or fictitious car or does it actually exist? :dunce:

I know it exists in GT5 but does it exist in reality? I've seen a few youtube videos but there's no data about the car itself. How many S2000 GT1's were actually built? (if indeed it's a real car)

Never existed, Amuse is just a tuner company that custom build parts in this case for the S2000 and also a few Nissan cars supported by the manufactures.

Thanks 👍 thought that was the case. I know the 380RS Supperleggera exists because I've seen articles, info, photos, vids etc. I realized the "Amuse" S2000 GT1's were simply Honda S2000's with the Amuse Widebody kit. So really, it's somewhat cheating to have it in GT5 against top performing cars since it doesn't exist anyway ;)

So, PD just used said parts to build the S2000 GT1? Not bad.

Lol, let me refraised that..... It wasn't a production car, just a project car created by Tanabe-san that was never completed by him due to his death like the OP stated. Although I'm not sure if the build was completed by someone else it is possible cause we have the car in the game.

Back to the OP, it was not a mass production car, better now.

What bugged me was the fact that I could never find any concrete info about the S2000 GT1 online. Almost every article simply led to a GT5 forum or to something linked with GT5, no other source.
I suppose it's a fantasy car, a little bit like the Nismo Fairlady Z Z-tune, which PD admits is a fantasy car.

See if that link opens up cause I posted using my phone.... Do you need the used Amuse GT1 from the game? I can dupe mine after all it's fully built and tuned for drag racing. If you do FR me....

It was only a project car, like you said.

That's the only meaningful article I could find. The guy states that the car he saw was a S2000 with a bodykit and Mugen configured engine.

Thanks, the link works. I don't know what it is but I generally don't like driving fictitious cars in driving games because in reality, we don't know if it would have performed the way that PD have made it perform in the game......

Right cause the engine he was working on with the crazy turbo and Frankenstein rods and cams never made it to the car before he pass, what a shame cause the GT1 Turbo in the premium shop runs and handles very nicely, I can only imagine what the real one would have been.

Ryan, the GT1 is a car also in GT4, the GT1 Turbo is new and improved in various aspects.

Surprised at the news, I thought the only "fictitious" cars in GT were the race cars with Polyphony decals. Although this car would be real had he lived...

What got me suspicious was the fact that I couldn't find any data on the car on the Internet. Neither genuine vids or the like. What I can't understand is why his colleagues at Amuse didn't finish the car in his abscence if it was so close to completion and only the engine had to be added?

I think the didnt finish it because of a respect of the maker...as in "Only He could finish it and say it was right "

Pretty sure that's not the one in GT5. There is a tuned S2000 with a 2.3L engine and Amuse kit and parts but it isn't the GT1 from GT5.

For me it was never a mystery ...it exists. But then again, I do not think the car, as found in GT5 (the Turbo Version) can ever exist in real life ...performance wise. There is not a thing that is street based that can beat it convincingly ...on any track...and that includes McLarens in stock form. Not sure what Kaz was thinking of ...must be a fantasy thing. The so-called Touge Monster as found in those Best Motoring videos is pedestrian by comparison. Still, the widebody kit and general idea seem real to me ...

It is a real car I have seen pictures of one being driven and I heard from somewhere that Kaz actually owns one

That's not real either?

So PD can make a whole bunch of fake cars, but when the fans do it, it's breaking the rules...sounds a little hypocritical to me.

There are many cars in all the GTs, including GT5 which have never existed in real life. The obvious ones are most of the TC and Super Touring Cars, some concept cars, some tuner cars, some "LM" cars, etc.

I remember seeing the original GT1 on Best Motoring Hot Version a long time ago (the orange/carbon trunk which is a standard car in GT5). The GT1 Turbo widebody kit alone costs $10,000 USD and that's before getting it fitted/painted.
