-> This strucked me while playing GTPSP last night, ever wondered that GT had long loading times to a point your 'game' is somewhat diminished before playing the game? :indiff:

-> How about some (really epic) car ads/videos from the recent past to keep us saturated our love for cars, of course we have the option to switch it on/off. :)























^ Of course there would be hundreds more vids that PD can dish out, so repetitiveness would be nil. :dopey:

Like the idea but commercials might implicate GT is sponsored, maybe only the really old commercials with cars now considered classics.
The suggestion of camouflaging loading screens is a welcome one however, could show historic footage or recent real life coverage of events on the track you're about to race.
Le Mans or Nurburgring 24 hour footage, etc. or anything car-related or race/rally derived clips to get you in the mood instead of a boring loading screen.
 
Possibly they could make the commercials specific to the car you are driving? I know that Sportka commercial might be a bit motivating before a race.
 
From what i have seen of recent GT5 footage the loading screens seem to be extremely fast, and almost instantly it will load to the selected track and give you a flyby of it while it loads the rest of the data. I vote they keep it the way it is.
 
I don't think the load times for GT5 are going to be too bad, but nonetheless I love your idea. đź‘Ť

My favorite game moments are when you think you've seen everything the game has to offer, and something new comes up. So I think it'd be cool if sometimes the load screen is just the regular load screen, sometimes it's a car commercial, sometimes a video clip from a race, sometimes an interesting fact (a la Forza), etc. And have the content shown during the loading screen change as you progress through the game, kind of like how in GT5P where more background environments for the main menu were unlocked when you progressed through the classes.
 
So long as they don't put the Ford Meteor ad in that's in The Funny Vid thread, I think we'll be cool with that. đź‘Ť

No, not really... Sure, a long load time can be mildly annoying, but how does that detract from the actual game itself when you get to race around the track you just loaded?
 
Videos wouldn't be pracitcle, no only would the vast majority of them be longer than the loading time but the ad it'self would need to be loaded. And to get enough of them so as to avoid over repetition would take a lot of disk space. It's a nice idea but not a practical one, I think you could have car advert posters and things like that, they would be loaded in an instant and because it's a static advert the loading time itself would be irrelevant. You wouldn't have to limit it to adverts, but anything stati would be better than a vidoe clip.

Personally I'd like all the race information, the cars in the race, the race rules and the track conditions and possibly any records currently held at that track and also records in your class of car or that specific event to be shown while the race is loading.

I was going to suggest a random selection of personal stat/achievements and trophies a la Dirt2 (but not in an arcade style) but making them specific to the event would be even better.

Videos would be good but bearing in mind how many hours mostly people will playing GT5 they will become repetitive.
 
-> Printed ads are a good welcome also. I am aware that these videos would take the BD memory significantly.

-> Anyway, any suggestions that fills up that blank screen while loading is greatly appreciated. :)
 
Car ads on loading times? Wait what? I hope not. Prologue had very fast load times.. SO just please instead of LOADING or GT logo being presented, how about GT Museum (found in Prologue) that way everyone can learn about some car history.
 
Not a fan of the idea, have a constant change in style makes it looks messy, by that I mean constantly different videos when your loading, I much prefer a more natural regular style, if you want to make something more interesting do the stuff codemasters have done, where all you stats are presented as the game loads, which is quite interesting i like seeing my highest top speed etc.
 
I like your idea, but I think it would be even cooler to instead show clips of epic overtakes and what not from racing from all over and all generations.

It would be kick-*** to watch a clip of Villeneuve and Arnoux battle it out while my race loads... :)
