An oddity

Yesterday I was out walking and a pretty standard looking XE10 IS came along. But I then noticed the front badge, which was an Altezza! But it had Lexus wheels and a Lexus rear badge, only for it to say Altezza on the back too. But it was LHD with a British number plate... does anyone know how this could have come about?

Just changed the badges I guess.

Yes but it was LHD not RHD with British plates, that really threw me. Unfortunately I didn't get the plates, which would have told us a bit more, but it's still weird.

They changed the badging. It is most likely an IS.

Probably an IS. I don't think the Altezzas even came LHD?

No, mycarcheck is advertised all the time in the UK. You can use it to see if it's been stolen or written off etc. What I have been trying to say is all XE10's that were sold in the UK were RHD, not LHD. And it was an elderly couple driving it, not primary candidates for changing badges (or more like badge because it still had Lexus on some places).

I see, guess it's different in the US. I read they aren't legally allowed to give out that kind of information.
