Exactly what I am planning on doing. A few of you here that I talk to will know what is going on. So, in light of all the crap that has hit the shore in this past month, it is time to get back to the program of life. I have just enrolled into UTI. I am awaiting information from them and hopefully an acceptance letter. I am going to follow my dreams now at this point. First off with getting my ASE and then onto more advance courses.

I am doing this so one day I will be building race cars for BMW or Porsche. I want to feel the bitterness of a 24 hour Lemans race. I want to feel the pressure of tech inspections and most of all, I want to build engines from scratch for one of these teams whether it be a Lemans team or a touring car team. I now feel 100% focused on my goals and nothing is going to stop them. A lot of weight has departed these shoulders and I am ready to do everything needed to accomplish my goals now. . . It is amazing when you figuretively hit a brick wall at 100mph. : ) Wish me luck guys : )

Ooh boy, that sounds like gobs of fun (seriously)! Good luck! :)👍

I am officially envious. Best of luck to you, hope you get accepted. :)

Maybe we'll see miata in one of the infomercials they run on Speed channel sometime. :D (if a new one is ever made that is)

Good luck! It's always great to see people doing something they want to do with their lives career wise.

Go for the gusto, man, but don't go away! Good luck!

I agree with everyone else: Good Luck, and don't give up. It is nice to see someone who is actually going to seriously persue their dream job. And yeah, don't forget your roots! Definately put a GTP plug in your first TV appearance!

Good luck man! All the best of luck for your new career path 👍

When you graduate, you must come and register a name here like LeMaNz_RaCeRz_d00d. Then we will know you have hit the big leagues. =o

Thanks Guys, right now I refer to this time as purgatory because I am sitting here waiting acceptance. If I am not accepted I am holding Klos fully responsible for it : ).

I would love to get to the point where Speed or some channel does an interview with me, but I highly doubt that a mechanic for a team will have too much time to do the interview, I guess you never know. I'll definately have to do a shout to GTP if I do get on TV thouygh : ). If it doesn't work out, I guess there is always a thought of being a porn star . Seriously though, I will not stop until I do get onto a touring car or lemans team though. : )

Don't forget to mention all your sponsors on the air:

I'd like to thank GTPlanet, Pupik's GT2 Spot, Coke, and the Pass & 'll Foundation for finding a cure to the abuse of the Shift Lock Key. We're just going to take it one race at a time, we're going to make it a race-time decision, and thank all our fans for coming out to cheer for us...

I thought it was Mountain Crew that was sponsoring the drink of the race. . . I also won't forget to mention the all the Drifters that have made it possible for me to continue my life of gripping : )

EDIT: actually if I get on TV I'll wear a sign on my uniform stating MIATA13B is the Shiz of all Nizz thanks to GTP : )

A guest speaker came to my class telling use to enroll in UTI. they showed us a 20 min long video segment. and some people enrolled but i dont think peole are taking to serious.

BTW: u going to hotrod U ?

No, I am starting off with the automotive field study there. Go through the main 48 weeks I believe. From there I am trying to get accepted into Porsche or BMW's program. . . from that point I will be enrolling into whatever programs BMW or Porsche has to offer. Hotrod U has perked my interest though. I will be talking to a recruiter more and more as time draws near to decide on the course necessary for me to take. He even told me to check into the NASCAR education program. . .

Well, papers have been signed, money has been saved and January 13th is my first day back in school. I am pysched guys (at least the ones that remember me). It is so hard for me to find anytime to get online so this is one of those rarely seen posts from me.

Well I am not going to be attending UTI but I will be attending Baran Institute Of Technology in Connecticut. It is just south of Springfield, Mass. and just north of Hartford. I did a tour of the school and when I walked into the first garage they had you could smeel the gas, grease, and oil. This one has a fully operational 22 car garage complete with lifts and the whole nine yards. That will truly give a gearhead a huge hard on :).

So folks after a long 6 months of living in Connecticut my dreams are starting to be fulfilled. I hope I get a little more time to get back to GTP, but none of you I care for are forgotten. Hopefully you'll get a PM from me with an invitation to go to The 24 Hours of Lemans : )

Hey miata, it's sure has been a while since I've seen you online

Glad to hear that, the program sounds sweet. Are you "specializing" in any particular field?

Basically I am just learning the generals of everything that makes a car run and how they work together. I will go onto more advance training after this first year. I am still trying to figure out exactly what I will speciallize in. I am thinking suspension, but squeezing extra pounds of torque out of an engine does make me want to learn that.

Seeing this thread, i realize now is the perfect tme to ask this question: how do you move to F1? What do you start in to get there, and how ol should you start at? Replies would be very much appreciated, along with any information. thanks.
