What do you want to do in F1, do you want to race? Then you need to start racing at a local level and through wins and records comes sponsorships and through them you move up the ranks of the racing world until you manage to get a contract in F1. . . If you want to work on cars, work locally for a shop that sponsors or has a race car in a certain division and eventually you'll be able to use that car as a portfolio and move on to a higher racing class. . .

I think you might be quite impressed with the "project car" that is conjouring up in my Medula-Bad-Idea mind. a 1989 BMW 528 which needs to be reincarnated as an M5 : )
