Okay this might only be a phase and change after I slept a night over it, but which one do you think is the better one, you like more.
Is the 2.5 cooler than the 4.2 or the other way around.

If you want to know why I ask, go take a look at my car thread. (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=231388&page=5)

Pro and cons for me:
TTRS : newer in age, 2.5 engine is awesome and sounds like heaven, is lighter than the other 2.

RS4: Is an RS, has awesome large fenders, has a V8, more space than a TT, older than the TTRS

S5: Has the V8, looks stunning, lot of space despite being a "coupe", older than the TT,

V8: more costly in maintance than the V5...

All of them would come with Audi warranty (most have the plus warrenty)

There are a lot of "fake important" threads so I think I am entitled to mine... ;), it might have a chance to become a reality

I think the driving in the TTRS isn't as good as the others, even though it's a little rocket. I'd probably take the S5 because it has a nice mix of practicality and good looks. What version RS4 are we talking about here? If it's the B8 Avant I'd have that, if not then S5

Ah sorry forgot to add that in the text but added it in the poll. Will edit.

Yeah TTRS = Haldex (modified by Quattro gmbh) while the others are Torsen quattros

It's got to be the RS4 - if not already, its bound to be a cult RS - the one that got Audi's mojo back (before they lost it again with the RS5). It has to be one of the best looking Audi's ever. Nevermind how it sounds...

I love(d) that car too, but Audi.de has only one available, though it looks really neat. If I buy one of the 3 cars mentioned, I will only buy it over Audi's official second hand as they have warrenty, and have generally only one previous owner.

They're all pretty good, but I have a soft spot for the S5. V8, epic looks, and relative comfort.

^Yeah they are lovely.
Is there a way to change the poll? I added the S4 b8 to the list. Spent way to long on the audi website

I'm not sure, I suppose you could always ask a mod to do it. Search the site support section, there's probably a thread.

Okay maybe one passes by and can change it, if not I will ask ;)

Thing is, the new S5 with the 3.2T is supposed to be faster, handle better, and get better fuel economy. That'd be the way to go.

But, I'd say bollocks to all of them and buy a Mustang. Because, America.

+1

In Luxembourg? I'd rather have a hot hatch in Europe than a pony car. The Mustang's fun, but it's not very refined.

What about RS3? ;)

In that case, better off going with the M135i. If you can deal with the new 1-series' "interesting" styling that is.

I say to hell with it and go for the cult classic RS4. The more practical choice would of course be the S4 especially since the older RS models are starting to look a little old-hat now but the B7 RS4 is an amazing bit of kit.

buy a Mustang.

New S5 is not out here yet (and is not in budget), so a S5 sportback, and you probably meant the 3.0T as in the S4 or S5SB.

RS3 = don't like the look of it. TTRS is the same in a coupe shape.

BMW option = new one, I don't like, maybe it will grow on me, but if I would go BMW it would be the 1M. Thing is it took me 10 years to find a Audi dealer that doesn't screw me over.
Don't want to restart that process with BMW now.
RS4 b7, while I loved that car, it is the oldest and as said, Audi only has one in stock in whole Germany, thus giving not a lot of options.

So I slept over it (been thinking too much about it while in bed, didn't sleep really well ).
I am now 85% sure I will go down one of those roads.
Thing is the V8.
While it is a lovely engine, I can imagine that maintaince cost on those are greater than on the V6 or I5. Also cost for insurance and road tax are enormous for everything over 4 liters.

I was looking way too long on Audi's website, and have found probably a good 10 cars which have the options I want.
With the S5 I found a few with the sport diff, but sadly no S4 with it. And it's quite a must have option
Also found out that tuning the engine of the S5 is the only one that is really tricky if I would want to go down that road at a later point. Compared to the 3L TFSI or 2.5 TSFI, which can unleash a lot more power for not a lot of €

I need to look further and find a decision on which car shape I want. Until then I can't make a choice obviously.

Though for now, I am leaning more to the TTRS. It's lighter, thus more nible, I don't need the addition space from the S4 - S5 as I don't have kids. And if I get them they will fit in the TT's backseats for a few years or in the trunk as Mr. Clarkson would say .

I have found one with MMI (that is a must if bought) and the bucket seats. Awesome combination

Im disappointed to hear the ttrs uses a haldex unit driving the front till it slips and then the rear... Saw an interesting review of the S3 where that combined with the ASM/ABS system left he reviewer saying quasi-awd (dmax comparison of the s3 and sti).

My purchase on the given list would be the rs4.
If the year of the car is an issue I would buying the most recently made as to avoid issues with reliability.

Problem with the S5 is, they are built for douchebags with more money than sense.

I've met two S5 owners and I'd like to prove you wrong on that. Douchebags come with cars in all shapes and sizes.

Same here, I have a friend with an S5 and the guy might not be a great driver in terms of performance cars but certainly not a douche

Sorry, my comment was made in haste.

50% of S5 owners either rev on me or try to race. They mainly give me a bad taste in my mouth because there is one in my neighborhood. And he comes home late, flying down the street blasting dubstep.

When I worked for Audi I asked during one of the product formation, why they put the Haldex on that behavior. This answer will never be official and is the same that Toyota said inofficially when they recalled the cars with "stuck" accelerators. Customers safety and "stupidity".
Because there is a remedy to that: the OEM Haldex upgrade.
Gen1 : 50-50 all the time (like i have on my S3)
All Gens after : you can choose to a maximum to constant 60% to the back.
It comes directly from Haldex, so no product from a mad back yard mechanic.
And it is well worth it, I refell in love with mine after upgrading.
Also the TTRS haldex has modified plates by Quattro Gmbh, so quite unique. It can even send the whole power to the back (by limiting the front, but BMW x-drive works the same way... marketing). It can even transfer power from one side of another on one axle.

Okay so I probably found my car:
33ufi9x.jpg

From the same Garage that my Dad bought his A6 3.0TDI(II).
If I get the same discount as he, it fits in my "blown up budget".
4200km!
Full leather, MMi plus, 20" Rims 👍
I miss my bucket seats, but all the other options are either more expensive, have lots more km on it, or a really far away.

To ZohsixGT5 defense: the stereotyp of the ahats of BMW seem to have moved on to Audis. But that doesn't make them all ahats. I've been an Audi person since the 80's

Looks very nice, I like the colour.
Hopefully the roads aren't littered with potholes like around here with the 20" rims :)

Our roads are quite good, so no problem there ;)

Going to fetch my S3 now, so I can talk with them about the RS

Can't wait to here the I5:drool::drool::drool:

So, went to the garage, they gonna get the car down to their place during next week (basicly reserved now), I will look for money under stones next week:lol:, test drive the week after and then do the paper work and stuff....

:):):) Happy, happy hippo

Nice 👍 Not had the fortune of driving the RS yet, only the S. Even the S is a pretty nice car and plenty fast!

Sweet, wonder how much it will be until you can't resist the easy power and add a tune and exhaust

I would be very tempted from the start on, but first I need to pay this off as I won't shove out all the money at once.

But Carbon will get added over time, surely engine tuned at one point (ABT, MTM or B&B)

when is a good question, but I try to push it back a bit.

I first looked for TTS but prices for those are so high compared to RSes.

Also only drove a TTS, but it was a really nice ride, so this is gotta be heavenly

This went from a 'considering this' to a 'look what I'm buying!' thread extremely quickly.

That's one nice TT-RS, I can imagine you'll have some fun in it. ;)

Those holes in the fasciae are enormous :0

Are these the ones that put down more than 300 hp?
