Andy Priaulx.

Again.

For the 3rd time in a row (and he was ETCC champ the year before)

Another great season for Andy in what was far from the best car, but he manages to get the results, and pulls out the wins, when needed.

He's an unsung hero of British motorsport, and never seems to get the recognition his results deserve.

Well done, Andy

It's amazing the amount of coverage in the British press someone like Lewis Hamilton gets compared with actual multiple world champions like Andy Priaulx or James Toseland (World Superbikes).

Well done Andy 👍

From what i've seen of this years WTCC, Priaulx had by no means dominated the championship - but he does seem to have a knack of not getting involved in the usual Touring Car panel bashing fests.

Congrats to Andy Priaulx! (although i didn't watch much) i think he is one of the consistent drivers in the WTCC. Jason Plato nearly won this years BTCC, lost to Fabrizio Giovanardi just by 3 points after an almost interesting scenario compared to Ferrari's Kimi Raikonnen and Felippe Massa....

But wasn't Plato going in to the final race with severe burns a la Caparo?

Yep, the race was a week after that firey incident.

I agree with whats been said though, Hamilton has won a few races, Priaulx has won 3 world titles and yet some people probably dont actually know who he is..

I'd say that some people probably do know who he is - which is the problem - why aren't these things more widely reported on?

The British press don't seem to care about any sports other than football. And F1 (this year). And then they just do the usual of building someone up until they make the smallest mistake and then flame them for it.

Well done to Andy. If it were me I'd prefer it the way he has it. He can walk down the street without being mobbed, go out with his mates and get a bit lashed without it being front page news. As long as the people who matter take notice (proper motorsport fans/Team principles) it's all good.

I hear he gets recognised in his local Gurnsey farily often but not much on the mainland - just how he likes it. He's also resigned with BMW for next season.

At least 1 Brit won an FIA world championship this year :)

Amen to that! 👍
