Andrew Palmers Bentley did not leave the ground.

http://www.thedrive.com/news/3810/a...ce-car-did-not-go-airborne-in-lime-rock-crash

Paragraph from the article:

"compiled from interviews with Lime Rock employees who witnessed the crash, Palmer's Bentley briefly lost control near a TV stand on the front straight, coming into contact with the guardrail. The Bentley was then hit by Jorge de la Torre's Aston Martin, sending Palmer skidding off-track and across the grass. The race car subsequently impacted the first barrier on the side of the track and spun around the open end of it, ultimately coming to rest on the far side of the barrier near the trees."

I would believe Rick Roso even if he did not see the accident. It explains a lot.

If any of you watched the race on Friday (race 1) you would of seen that it was a bad weekend in turn 1 for the Bentley team as Palmer was pushed wide by P Long at the end.
Long apologized saying the incident was all on him.

Photo from Friday's race, don't get confused.

rick would be in the know...but wow that is not what the talk was at the track on saturday...hard to figure

great news. Still have seen no update at all about Andrew Palmer though...
I've been working all week on F3 cars, checked back to see if there was any info. It's good to see Jorge got released. But Palmer. I did a quick Google search. At this point I'm pretty sure that no news is bad news. :(

Ahead of the upcoming Pirelli World Challenge Road America race weekend, Bentley Team Absolute/Andrew Palmer’s manager Mike Perry made the following statement on behalf of the Palmer family:

“As Andrew continues to recover, we are all very grateful for the overwhelming support from the entire motorsport community.

“Both Sharon Hospital and Hartford Hospital in Connecticut have been amazing, and we would like to thank the incredible doctors and nurses
for everything they have done so far.

“Andrew has demonstrated great strength and shows signs of improvement everyday, and, although we are not yet in a position to give an update on Andrew’s long-term prognosis, we are remaining positive. Your respect of the family’s privacy at this time is appreciated.”

That sounds very very serious. Best of luck to him.

Did they ever release more information on Palmer's condition, the only updates I've seen are months old and very vague.

Listening to the PWC broadcasts all season, and seeing various things online, nothing has been released in detail. He is in recovery and improving from a head injury - is the most I ever put together.

There's a good write up from the CEO that kind of goes over how that situation was handled, and how basically the family didn't want to share any information and PWC was respecting that. Wish I could remember where I read that.

I did see Jorge de La Torre was in this last PWC race and was about to post about it when I saw this thread was updated.

Here are the 2 cars he had at Lime Rock. I don't recall which car was in the accident.

I hope for Andrew Palmer's well being.

I was at Laguna Seca last weekend for the PWC Finale, not a great pic, but here is de La Torre's new car. Notice the #getwellsoonandrew on the door.

Glad to see this thread still around. Sad to see a continue blackout on Andrew's condition which does not bode well at all. Thoughts are with him and his family.

With 2 names on the car they must of been in the SprintX race(s) as well..?? That race I did not watch.

sgohsixthree, did you have a great time?

Yes, they ran in Sprint X as well, which was AWESOME because there were soooo many more entries compared to previous rounds. De La Torre also did the first two rounds at Mosport, but obviously had to skip the next two because of the incident at Lime Rock.

Laguna Seca is great, been there for track days before, but never an actual event. Everything in PWC is so open and laid back, but still very professional. The grid walks are legit, something I wasn't used to after going to Sonoma the last 3 years. Watching the cars go through inspections is right there too, super cool to watch.

Sprint X was rad. The Super Trofeo Lambos were a great addition. Hopefully they expand those with the Porsche Cup and Ferrari Challenge together next year. I really enjoyed the Sprint X format, but I found it somewhat confusing from a spectator standpoint. On TV it's fine, but an hour race with 3 classes of almost 30 cars and mandatory pits in person is hard to follow, even for people who know what's going on. That was my take.

TLDR: Yes, it was 🤬 awesome!

I'm glad you had a 🤬 awesome time, I always do too! It's too bad I have to wait until Memorial Day (end of May) for the PWC at Lime Rock.
It's going to be a long off season. :(

Nothing. Weird, huh?

When looking at his official web page it's content is copyright 2017. Somebody is paying (paid) the bill.
Twitter last reply May 28 2016.

Some photos from that day.

Same with his website - time just stops late in May 2016. Whatever the battles he's still fighting with his injuries it seems clear that a return to racing is far from imminent. I hope he recovers well.

Says here his Wiki page was edited just shy of 2 weeks ago, 'suffered a head injury'

What's worse is there has been nothing made public whatsoever,

That was added on the 18th June 2016, the other edits are just bot-tidying. The "head injury" is un-cited, the reference supplied for it says no such thing. I'm not saying he didn't suffer a head injury but I don't think there's been any official word on that - the wiki edit certainly doesn't show it.
