A good animations program would be Adobe ImageReady or Ulead Gif Animator.

Another good animation program is Jasc Animation Shop 3. It has some nifty effects, but it's compression isn't too good.

But nothing compares to Macromedia Flash MX when it comes to animations, whether they be SWF or GIF.

Sorry for posting here

Thank you anyway :)

Can anyone who uses Flash MX (Shannon?) suggest some easy starting tutorials please? I've had a look around on the internet, but most are quite bad. Thanks

MX Flash has a pretty good set of basic tutorials and lessons built right into the program under help!!

Those samples are really good! - I especially like the maze. - The lessons are really what helped me get my flash skills up and working.

Like hanker said, read through the tutorials that come with Flash. They are great and will get you into the animation side of things. As for actionscripting, spending a few dollars on a book would be a wise investment.

I haven't really gotten into actionscripting yet. I only know the basic commands like stop();, gotoAndPlay(1);, etc.

If you want some tutorials, check out some of the well known sites like Spoono and Robouk. Just remember that you'll need to know the basics of Flash before you go reading tutorials on the internet. Like I said earlier, read the tutorials (Help > Tutorials) that came with Flash before anything.

I suggest a forum aswell. www.TutorialForums.com I have posted this a few times already but its owned by Robouk.com, Absolutecross.com and Spoono.com. Its very popular and its where i've learnt just about everything I know. Its great for everything from Flash to Photoshop to HTML. You'll see me on there as Infection. :)

You did read the tutorials that came with Flash, right?

Well I got a book to learn it and that was well worth the money! Its much easier to learn it away from your pc in your own comfort. A book I recommend that you can get on Amazon is "Flash MX For Dummies". :)
