Hi

I love the rain, but I've got enough of it in GT5. I think it's annoying to see that squared low-res raindrops covering the whole windscreen all the time. I can barely see the road sometimes, especially in the X2010. I know the GT5 uses the PS3 to the limit, but that rain is just annoying when it's that bad made, in my opinion.
I really hope PD will fix this soon. Even Race 07 has done this much better.

The glitch is the blinking, almost like lightning, when hitting the curbs.

And it's about slightly square raindrops. They look fine on my car.
 
The rain doesn't bother me at all. I'd rather have it like it is now, than not have it at all.
 
The rain looks fine...compared to what games were doing 5 years ago with it. (Except for the black rain on Suzuka of course).

It's horrible; I now avoid rain races like the plague.
 
The rain effects are playable, but they need a definite improvement.
The rain isn't anywhere near as transparent as it should be. It also doesn't distort the stuff outside the car enough.
Rain should cause differences in magnification across the windscreen on cars without a windscreen wiper.
The rain drops on the windscreen are also quite squarish.

Again: The rain is playable, but needs improving.
 
Never said it was completely impossible to see, but it's quite hard with cars with tiny windscreen wiper, or none at all. I struggled with the Toyota Tom's Supra in the Super GT-race at rainy Suzuka.
The Nürburgring video proves it should still be possible to see 100m in the rain. And of course the visibility can get as bad as just 5m, I have been in such fog, but are you racing in that weather.
 
The X1 doesn't have wipers.
Try heavy rain in a one make X1 race ;)

I agree though, some cars have horrible (almost unusable) cockpit views in the rain
 
Yes, but not for that. Because when you enter the race every opponent starts with dry tires, when its rainy.

The rain itself is fine, but the effect it has on the track is horrible. A few days ago i was doing a 3 lap race at nurburgring, and it started raining at the start of lap 2. I came in at the end of lap 2 and put wets on because i was starting to lose grip, but the rain tyres made it worse, i lost over 40 seconds in the rain using rain tyres in an AWD car to a guy on slicks in a rear wheel drive corvette (which i happen to know is a handleful in the wet). The track colour hardly changes so you can never tell which tyres are best.
 
Can't believe PGR4 did it so much better.

The rain effects certainly don't bother me, although the lack of standing water (visual) does, its impossible to tell how wet the track actually is, because it is not represented visually.
 
I think that the rain effects look quite cool most of the time, but can't drive in the rain to save my life in cockpit view :(

Granted I have trouble with cockpit view in general due to the viewing angle, usually stick with bumper cam when I need to drive well. It's a shame because I was really excited about interiors... It's not too bad to drive like that with the view zoomed a bit, but then you lose the sense of speed and can't see most of the interior, so it sort of misses the point.

No, he forgot to capitalize the "I" and use a period at the end as well. Utterly unforgivable, I'm glad we have such elite mods to make sure this astoundingly offensive behavior is kept in check >_>
 
I find bumper view to be better anyways, so no problems with rain here. Same as with premium cars, makes no difference to me.

Puddles would be so cool in this game. I'm surprised they aren't in it either. Dirt 2 has some great ones.
 
I use bumper cam (which isn't really on the bumper, of course) and I wish I had rain on the "windscreen".

There was no grammar mistakes with his sentence. Only punctuation and spelling. Nice post though
 
What bothers me more is how laggy the windshield wipers are when you look at them with the chase cam.

He's reminding him to mind his grammar. And yes, grammar actually covers punctuations and capitalization. And he's doing him the courtesy of not giving him a permanent mark on his record before warning him.

He's being uncommonly kind, actually. I'd hit the user up with a warning or an infraction.

If anyone feels that we should not admonish new users to dot their "i's" and cross their "t's" (pointless with a keyboard, but you know what I mean), you can take it up with the admin in the feedback section. All further posts regarding grammar will be removed from this thread.
