You really hate those 4-cyl FWD cars, do you?

Just asking, not to pick up a fight with you.

Peace.

HyundaiRacer, I have a story to tell you similar to that:

I got an aquaintance at school with a modified Civic (aftermarked clear taillights, foglights, new hubcaps every week, muffler etc.). One day we were both stopped at a stoplight coming out of the school and he was reading my infamous bumper stickers. When he read the one that said "www.offmyass.com", he purposely drove up to my bumper to get me mad. And I was; I spun a tire once the light went green and didn't slow down till' the next light. Not bad for an Excel!

The next day he says he now respects not only me, but Hyundais as well. I never said a word about his car. :D

Hyundai Racer
Once in Barstow California, I stopped in a red light and this Civic with a coffee can exhaust, big rims, dark tints and lots of vinyl stickers pulled up next to me. The driver kept pressing the gas and making the car sound off, wanting to race. I decided to go for it, not knowing what would be the outcome: was this rice or real? When the light went green we left at full acceleration, and after half a block I had a whole car length on the Civic, when I got to the next light I was way ahead... Instead of stopping next to me, the Civic just turned into a small road right before the light, probably out of shame. His Civic had been beaten by a bone stock Hyundai Accent!!

Oh my gosh, that's almost exactly what happened to me the other day!

Edit: Ignore completely. This thread is a year old.

I'm sorry that I've been replying to these "old" threads. I didn't know people don't like it. I was bored so I decided to view all the older threads here. Just because they're old doesn't mean you shouldn't reply to them. And if I'm not supposed to reply to "old" threads, how come they aren't closed? You can still read them, but they just won't have any more replies.

Again, honest mistake. Sorry :(

It's not a problem as long as you are really adding something to them, which you did in this case. But don't assume that anybody you quote is still around or interested, that's all. But there's nothing wrong with bringing back threads if you're not trying to pretend they're current.

Yes, I know this thread is a year old, but this was actually addressed to me and it's been brought up, so I'll answer it:

NO, I don't hate 4-cylinder FWD cars. I drive one and love it. My wife drives one and loves it. I was referring to how to tell a fake Type R from a real Type R. Real ones have 5-lug wheels.

That's all.

So, my neighbor has a Geo Prism. As soon as he saw my VR-4 he started putting turbo stickers on his car, he swapped wheels & got this huge muffler. The noises that come out of that car are hilarious.

Also, why do you guys insist on flaming anyone that brings back an old topic?

I think this sums it up nicely, Nick.

The thread died a year ago for a reason. That, and he addressed someone who doesn't even participate here anymore. Adding to a discussion that's long gone isn't adding at all.

Dad made a big (3") exhaust for the Skyline (yes it is an automatic but still fast as anything), but it has increased fuel economy, noise level and sound, and most importantly looks from people on the footpaths! :D

Dad said he was driving past a petrol station once (where another Skyline was filling up with petrol) at the ultimate part of the rev range (3,000rpm - where the note is VERY deep and growly) and he said that he heard one of the two guys (who were standing beside the Skyline at the station) say "That's how a Skyline should sound!"

Even while idling though it sounds super awesome (deep low rumbling).

Well it suits the Skyline (GTS-4).

It is not a ricer exhaust either if that is what you are thinking. It is primarily there to bring out the Skyline sound and increase fuel economy. As it is we still have the original exhaust thingy.

Yeah, I agree that it suits the Skyline, but some other cars sound like **** and give me a headache. 👎 They think they're cool when they make a lot of noise and they're not going anywhere. :dunce:

I think we should put this topic back to rest.

If you've got a fast car and want a sweet sounding exhaust tone then go ahead and do it. If you've got a slow car and want to think you're car is fast then, hey go ahead and do it. Sure most of those mufflers sound completely s*** but if they want to put them on then its thier choice.
