Soooo today marks 10 years that I've been on GTPlanet. A couple of days ago I thought about making a huge essay of a post detailing what I've learned, some highlights and lowlights. But then after a paragraph I realised it was going to require effort and would quite possibly be time-consuming. So I'll condense it into some shorter bits.
-Thank you to everyone who's made it a pretty damn special decade. Whether we've gotten along or argued, thanks.
-My sincere thanks and gratitude to Jordan, Famine and the moderating team (even the jerk ones) for making GTPlanet the tidiest, smoothest run forum I've been on bar none. I occasionally venture out elsewhere to other forums for bits and pieces, and see what happens when staff are a bit lax. People here who complain about the AUP or the staff don't know how good they've got it.
-Sorry I'm a jerk sometimes, I have a low tolerance threshold for people. If I've ever called you dense, or that you're a total bellend, I apologise. I obviously mean those things wholeheartedly, but I'm sorry if I've hurt any feelings.
-It's been an awesome 10 years, and I would say something to the effect of 'here's to 10 more' but a gypsy told me I will die at 28 in a hovercraft accident so I probably won't make it.
-monster_man was unfairly dismissed.
-This is much me congratulating you all on having me for a decade as much as it is me celebrating being here. You're all so fortunate that I've chosen to grace your lives with my presence.
So yeah. In closing, I thank you all from the bottom of the shard of ice that is my heart. GTPlanet is like a huge dysfunctional family and I love you all, even if I sometimes want to claw your eyes out. But I suppose that's what families do.
