sorry but i sound really dumb but how do i hyperlink words in messages especially if im possibly going to become an editor and need links to other pages or websites. for example if i wrote the word 'Audi' and wanted the link it to 'www.audi.com' how would i do that?

This should probably be in Computers and Webdesign :

Just remove all the spaces..

Be sure to check out GTP's help section if you have any more questions on general forum usage.

Although, to use the Guides, the code is a little bit different. What Flerbizky explained above won't work while contributing to the guides - only in these messages. You'll have to use this instead:

To link to another/new Games Guides page, just add two open and close brackets on phrase you want to be linkable:

To link to another URL outside of the Guides, just add one set of brackets - adding the URL first, and add a space afterwards followed by the phrase you want to be linkable:

[https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=55 Gran Turismo 4 : Message Board]

Sounds a little complicated, but once you get used to it, it's fine. Just check out the Wiki help section for various other ways to use the code.

The best way to do so is to highlight the word you want to link, like say Antidisestablishmentarianism.

Just highlight that word, then click the globe. Then type the link you want to enter.

Then it is Antidisestablishmentarianism. Clicking that leads you to www.google.com because that is what I typed in when I highlighted the word and clicked on the globe. 👍

But I guess it isn't that surprising - you ARE Famine after all. :p

Edit: It might be set as Basic Editor in your CP...

Edit2: Der Alta says the same below.
 
Ahhh... Famine has his message interface editor (under his options) set as "Basic Editor", instead of the default "Standard"

The apocalypse has been averted.

I do. I don't need teh buttons anyway - it's much quicker to learn the code and type it. Then I don't ever have to remove my hands from the keyboard and waste time with the mouse.
