Hey people... Decided DFGT to be my first racing wheel... Currently on GT6 and PS3... I read a ton of... stuff 'bout it so far and already doubt the choise a bit... But , I guess, stuck with it for now...

So... While turning, i expect the FFB to feel as a constant push on the wheel by the motor... But it is more like kicks... I observe the odd behaviour mostly on the out-of-turn acceleration or rather right after release of the break and while taking the turn... It is fine, when I drive slow (no traction point pushes)... Tackled with the settings... All changes as it should, but the kicky feel stays... Didn't try other games so far...

Also the wheel feels kind of kicky... I mean the FFB is weak and suddenly strong... then weak again... I just imagined it smoother... I don't have problem driving... I eat the gold times of the seasonals with it like peices of chocolate... Just wanna know if it should normally feel that way...

Thanks for reading 'bout DFGT for your 1000000000th time... And for the answers of course...

Do you have the power-steering switched on ?

Tryed it on and off... Same... But changing that I also changed otger setting... I'll try changing only it tonight (12:05 at noon on my watch now), and see what happens... Thanks for the suggestion, I will give info back...

That's how the DFGT works and the G27 is the same, just smoother and quieter. All you can do is move the sliders up and down but that doesn't change the behaviour, only the intensity of it. The reason is the gear drive, where the better wheels like the T300/T500 etc. all have belt drives. There is no give in gears, so it's like an on/off switch for FFB, whereas the better wheels have better FFB software and the belts to smooth things out.

Don't worry though, you get used to it and it'll become natural after a while. The G27 is a massive upgrade though, well worth the price especially now.

Yeah the DFGT is a little rough from the gears but you get used to it pretty quick. I ended up replacing mine with a Fanatec but that was mostly due to wanting to be able to play both Forza and GT with the same wheel. If not for the XBox I would have most likely stayed with the DFGT. I also had the MSWheel for the Xbox but after driving with the DFGT the MSWheel didn't cut it any more ;)

Lots of thanks, people... Exactly what I wanted to hear. That the wheel is fine, but just a bit wierd... After all I drive a real car twice or more every day and playing with a wheel for like two weeks... Gotta get used to a lot of things I guess... Just got worried a bit for a broken wheel bought like month ago... But now, knowing it's fine it is time to start actually breaking it... :))):dunce::crazy::dopey:👍

Just watch out for the infamous sticky-brake pedal. I've fallen victim to it... Might have to order new potentiometers soon  But all in all, a great starter wheel for its price!

I have been using my DFGT for almost 4 years now several days a week and I don't have this issue. Smooth for me. Except on dirt tracks, it will knock the pedal cable loose sometimes.

I've just swapped out my pedals, luckily had an extra set. But now, my left paddle shift does double downshifts, and the sequential stick won't recognize gear up sometimes... :irked:
