Another update, another car leading the sport charts?

yet another twist in the forever changing world of cars rolling the leaderboard in sport mode. I’m ofcourse referring to GR.3 and that damn RCZ that’s about to run riot.

I understand, I really do, it takes time to balance cars and so on and so forth but it’s getting a bit annoying joining a race with 4 of the same car in front or behind you, to just get blown apart.

What I ask you is, has this had an affect on your time in Sport Mode? Does it annoy you to the point you don’t want to race within Sport Mode any more and are you loyal to the car you choose or are you one of these ‘must pick the fastest car’ drivers?
 
I wont drive even the fastest car in a given class unless I have a cool livery made for it, With it changing quite often it gets expensive trying to keep up with making sure I buy the flavour of the month since I always get gifted a turd for the daily workout.

But it is also quite off-putting to see the grids full of the same car, People shouldn't need to be driving the car of the week just to be competitive.
 
Fortunately I'm not great at online racing, so I'm not really bothered. I'm more concerned with trying to get to grips with my new G29 and finding suitable cars.

At this rate it's going to be an endless loop of PD nerfing whatever the car du jour is, then another takes its place. Mind you, that seems to be what happens in real sportscar/touring with BoP and mid-season tweaks etc.

A particular car pops up as a favourite on an event all of a sudden it’s THE CAR :lol:

I ran a DRA/S SRS race tonight, RCZ on pole, me in an RSR 2nd, and a mix of both behind. TRL guy on pole was Euro top qualifier and disappeared, leaving me to have s great few laps with a phantom RCZ and a gtp tagged RSR.

There was a Z3GT3 in the top 10 Euro qualifying times too.

Grp3 is decently balanced.
 
I used the RSR earlier and then could not match the time I set with it when I tried the RCZ, although I probably should have been able too. I also saw people in both the Z4 and GT set decent enough times, the RCZ isn't really OP.
 
Well yes, it does tend to be THE CAR because it’s performance is greater. Given it’s not all down to the car, it helps slower drivers quicker, but if you actually read the point of the post, you would realise it’s not all about that. Just the title.

If you were to ask if I’d changed my behaviour in the grp4 events now the FWD stuff is so strong, I would say yes, I have stopped racing grp4.

But the RCZ is not dominant in grp3.

Also it was a good car before 1.07 too and often seen on leaderboards.
 
as long as you’re a competent driver it doesn’t really matter, at this point i drive what i want, qualify towards the back, then pass up all of the flavor of the week cars due to driver error, it raises your DR faster than qualifying top three and finishing first.
 
I thought it was nice to see the RCZ and little BMW in the gr3 races today, they didn't seem any different in power to my 991, faster at some corners, slower at others.
I feel sorry for the guy who has a megane in real life and has loved it in the game from day 1. I cant think of any other reason they would think oh cool a megane, I must drive that!.
At least the RCZ looks cool. But I don't think its a rocket or anything.

lol I only understand now, after rereading it twice, shame I posted before I read it properly.
 
The only OP is a type of car in a certain group. We all know which cars they are. We have all been sick of it for going on 2 weeks.
 
I’ve been sticking with my slow M6 for some reason. I think it’s because I put a livery on it and don’t feel like doing it again on the Z4. I need to go back to the Z4, it appears to be more competitive. Plus I find it a little more interesting in real life. The M6 is a ridiculous barge.
 
The Gr4 RCZ was never a dominant car, it's probably the slowest of all the FF's but was faster than most of the RWD cars though. I did some Gr4 races today and it wasn't loaded with a bunch of Meganes which is a nice change.

You realise that this is about the Gr3 RCZ?
 
Well, in real life, every season, new BoP, usually new car to beat, new complaints of the other manufacturers...
 
The Gr3 RCZ is mid-engined RWD isn't it? In any case I don't think this is a situation like the Megane, I've been using the Z4 and beating plenty of them and getting beaten by faster drivers in them too.
 
i don't know whats is the big problem about these "fast cars" ...

want to be as fast as them ?? -> drive it. (thats not a guarantee of being on the top list).
don't you like the car ?? -> don't use it.
they beat you ?? -> then try to be faster.
everyone looks equal ??-> its a race. not a fashion show, there are a lot of categories on real world where everyone uses the same car.

anyway, seeing a top list full with the same car, does not mean that driving that car will put you in those laptimes.

i invite you, and all the people complaining about the "fast cars", to try to beat himselfs. wichever the car you drives, and stop seeing others drivers cars.

No it’s not. The rcz has always been good. My buddy drives it a lot and I’m still able to catch and pass him in the Porsche. It may be easier to drive and handle but it’s absolutely not faster. Don’t take this the wrong way but it sounds like your putting blame on the game where it’s your lack of skill that is the culprit.

I'm the buddy he's talking about haha I've been driving the RCZ for the past 3 FIA seasons and it has always been a great car. It has no power but it's so good in corners. It's about time other players start using it. I'm always the only fast guy with it in FIA races. (''Fast guy'') ORMA_Snow must have started that new trend by using it to set amazing lap times.

To everyone: Please use it so I get some challenge next season lol I only ran 2 races and I still lead in the standings haha The Gr.4 RCZ is ***** though.

I find the mix of GT3 of cars to be pretty balanced.
I like the 991. I have passed and been passed by just about everything... so my conclusion is that it's pretty balanced.
Having said that... I've yet to see the Mustang in any races... maybe it needs BoP'd up???

Yes Gr3 isn't too bad except there are some cars that are never used so they must be pretty bad and need bringing up to the level of the others.

I can vouch for the Mustang Gr.3. I run a Lambo, highly modded setup RSS tyres. My PB lap time around Dragon Trail was set yesterday and is 1.35.001 (you won't believe how annoyed I was that it wasn't a 1.34.xxx). An hour or so before that PB was set though I had a few races and the fast lads were me, a guy in a Mustang and a guy in an RSR. So, yeah, can be done :)

Since the GTR Gr3 got nerfed, its been fairly absent as well. Not many people drive the M6 so that one is also a rarity.
 
I'm with you 100%. Since getting smoked by heaps of Gr.4 Meganes, I just stick to the one make series now.
