So I just remembered earlier today that there was a racing game either for PS1 or PS2 that used the left analogue stick as a steering wheel. You used to have to push the stick in a direction, but after that when you rotated it around in a circle, it would work as a steering wheel instead of the typical 'push left, push right' thing. I think the cars featured in the game were either Minis, Lotus (Lotii?) or another British marque, I don't think it was a GT-like in that it featured many manufacturers.

I have no other details, so Google has returned nothing, what would I even search for to find the game I'm looking for? Therefore I turn to you, The People of the Internet Most Likely to Know What I Mean, for help. Please help.

Thanks.

edit: if I had to take a less vague guess, it was a Lotus-based game on the PS1.

@Hyland I don't think that's the one, I can't see any mention of its unique steering method in the reviews I've looked at and I remember it being kind of a big deal at the time, like 'this is going to change how racing games are played' kind of hype which was obviously ridiculous.

Google has been pretty useless so far, as you've said. Haven't found anything that matches your description yet. Do you remember the developer/publishers, perhaps?

Austin Minis?

I know a few games with them, but they were horribly arcady and incredibly bad. I also can't think of any special steering method being included.

Oh, no way would I be able to remember the dev or publisher now...

It would be Austin Minis (if by that you mean the Issigonis-designed Mini rather than the BMW one), but I'm not sure if that was the one. I think I might be misremembering the Italian Job game as the one I'm trying to remember.

I'm starting to wonder if I've made this up. Does it ring even the slightest bell for anyone?

The steering method you're describing does actually sound familiar, but I have no clue why.
