imo rice is a crap "modifying" job of a car, starting with a crap base car, then buying stuff from a catalogue to bolt on including fart can exhaust so even more people can hear the car has no power at all, not touching the engine, garish colour, names plastered all over, arg i could go on but you get the idea

And what's your definition of a "crap" (stock) car? Assuming it was underpowered, wouldn't that be the point of suping it up? IMO, rice could be something as simple as adding a spoiler (rear decklid) to an FF vehicle, or as retardedly pointless as adding neons to a minivan. :\

I don't think people who "rice" there cars think there car is going to go faster.I think they do it to be different. 20" wheels on Skyline isn't going to improve the performance, but it may make it look different to every other skyline out there.

Why does everyone assume that a car with an aftermarket bodykit is meant to go faster?

Good i'm glad you agree. It seems the owner of the site thinks 'rice' is anything added to a car that makes it look bad, with some reference to looking, but not being faster. I say, one of the worst sites ever made, and i can't believe so many people attend his forum. It's a sad world

I agree, I don't see what's wrong with modding a car so the owner thinks it looks better as long as they realize and admit that the mods do nothing to performance. The people who continually bash "ricers" often know very little about cars themselves.

I think with those, it's quite obvious the person isn't serious. In fact I remember my cousin making a hilarious video where he riced out his '90 Ford/Mercury Sable with cardboard. My god it was funny, it had a hollowed out (top + bottom removed) beer can for the muffler!

Another thing what is wrong with wire rims? They were around long before these other rims. Sure they aren't the same as back in the 20's but still they are wires. My dad showed me some of his cars from the late 60's and they had wires on em.

Me personally I like them, they aren't ghetto or rice if you don't get them in 20 inchs. But if they are a normal size its good.

And so what if that rims bent? Roads in big cities are crap, he more then likely hit a pot hole or something.

Wire rims can be nice, but sometimes they are excessive. For example when they are installed on any newer car, or when they are gold. Being excessive does not connotate rice (though many ricers are excessive).

A marginal dent which you cannot even see would make a car near undriveable at anything over 50mph - and outright dangerous at freeway/motorway speeds. That isn't a dent. That's an abyss. That would thunk every turn at rolling speed, never mind traffic speed. It's extremely dangerous, worthy of a citation and showing little consideration for other road users - ignoring the fact he's not actually holding the steering wheel with his hands at all.

He could at least have changed to the spare.

Yes, even if it isn't balanced correctly the car can become the equivelant of a bomb on wheels. And all it takes is a few grams to put it off centre. So much as taping a small bag of flour to the inside rim and force your car to wobble and jerk and all sorts of nasty stuff. Not to mention what it does to the alignment at highspeeds, or the handling dangers it presents.
