Hello everyone,

Although I've been a 'member' here for many years, I don't think I have posted before...

My online home for the last decade, Granturismobynumbers.com, appears to have evaporated from the web. :(

Just wondering whether anyone from the 'Numbers is here. I guess Sukerkin is here from time to time. Anyone else? Do say "Hello".

p2

Well... we've only met once or twice before :D

How the hell are you? It's been ages! If you have a look in the Local Gatherings forum you can see we've kept the UKGTPs going even after Kevin similarly evaporated from the web. Must get you along to another one - August good for you? :D

Sukerkin is here quite often actually in the GT4 Car Tuning @ Settings forum if you want to catch up with him.

Edit: Whoops, confused Sukerkin with senamic.:dunce: Where I have seen Sukerkin before?

You can find out everything you want to know about Sukerkin ...

HERE

It WAS the GT4 Car Tuning & Settings forum, I was just thinking of the wrong garage.:dunce:

So this is how the UKGTP's came into existence! (don't know if this sentence is correct) :p

Yes. The first one was organised by Wastegate on GTbN and daan and I happened to be invited (him for... some reason and me because apparently you can't have one of us without the other  ). We did three there - one every six months - and then the site became unavailable to us and Wastegate vanished, so number four was done by me in my dad's spare room in Sheffield.

We kinda ran with it from there :D

I saw it being arranged on GTbN as I was a member at loads of GT sites back then, and asked Famine if he wanted to go. As it was relatively near him (hour and a bit drive) I borrowed his living room floor to sleep on for the weekend. I just turned up at this stranger's house, played GT, and time splitters (which I was terrible at) with a bunch of other strangers, and none of them were mad axe murderers. Which was nice.

Ah, I didn't know GTByNumbers was down. How long has the site been offline? I remember it well from my earliest days running GTP. :(

Hello again Famine & Daan, hello Paulie, Kikie & honourable Jordan.

I am well, thank you Famine :), but I haven't kept even my very modest skills honed these last few years.

Daan, that photo gallery was a trip down memory lane all right! Mostly my own handiwork too! That would have been just after I had my chest cracked if I recall correctly.

GTBN has been missing for a few weeks, Jordan, and as I don't have Glenn's email, I was looking for someone like Mark, who (being an admin) might know the story or at least have a contact address.

No surprise that Sukerkin's presence is primarily in the spannering section. TVRs and Aston's, all in green, I'd assume. :)

A colleague has just borrowed my GT3 disk, and I was planning to refer him to GTBN's GT3 forums :( ... I guess you might have some 'noob' resources on your archives here, so I'll take a look...

Thanks for saying "Hello", fellas.

You'll appreciate the current home of UKGTP:

Which doubles as a drive-through garage when not filled with drivers :D

Hello. Sorry to hear about GTBN's troubles. I used to be somewhat active there, but it's been a while since I posted.

Mark is here from time to time, and you've nailed his habits perfectly!

Ed is here also and a few of the others. We've got plenty of room, so tell everybody they can bunk here for the time being...

I too remember GTbN and I was just looking it up the other day only to find the placeholder.

You are all more than welcome to join in the forum here, as I know there are a whole host of top notch members from GTbN.

If you do happen to find some info, we'd all be happy to hear it.

NielsG,Banjobear,flat-out and me did organise for nearly a year the 25-lapper on the GTBN. Competing in the RBN(Racing By Numbers) was also fun.

I noticed that the GT5P was no biggie at the GTBN and interest of members was slowly faded away.

Glenn sent you a message.

Re: the 'numbers

Domain name registration fee was due... Thoasiii still owns the name.... nobody can get in touch with him to renew it... I have put in with Network Solutions to purchase the domain after his grace period ends, which I think is July 1.

Once I get the name registered, I'll re-tag the site, and we should be up and running again.

Well, the SITE is still up and running.... it's just tough to get to. ;)

Hey P2. I was wondering what had happened and after doing a Google search I found this thread.

Thanks for the info on what is happening.

Aah, the 25 lappers. That was awhile back.

Indeed, but that was back in 2005, when GT4 had just been released. I used to be named 'flat-out' at that time. But I didn't stay long and didn't do much outside the 25-lapper series.
I remember it started as a regular challenge between the 4 of us, I'm a bit surprised to see now that people I don't know remember it as well.

Hi P2 and old friends.

Thanks for this thread as I was starting to worry if the Numbers would ever return. And everybody remembers the 25-lappers, the RBN, and trying to get X-link to work. Just about finished unpacking everything in the new home, and the twins have learned to sleep through the night so I'm just getting back to playing some games. Should be back on track after the summer and finally nail all rallies for 200 A-spec :).

Hey there, GTbN member Venari signing in.

I remember EZ, his handicap system was awesome. Dudley and I ran a pimped Integra in EZGT2 (I think) and did fairly well, considering its lack of torque.

And I was one of the nutters pioneering 'drivable' hybrids in GT. I had a 1200hp Viper tyred Stingray Corvette (in GT mode) that was simply fabulous for drifting - but the 800hp one was faster.

Fond memories.

R & R, Congrats on the twins. Good to hear everything is going well.

Hi fellows :waves madly: :D.

I am still kicking and things are slowly getting better in the non-GT world; so I might be able to open the tool kit and do some more tuning at some point. I would not advise any holding of breath, however, as my priorities have been somewhat reshuffled as you can imagine.

The Numbers, as hinted at above, should be resurrecting as soon as the technical details are worked out - Dango can take a bow for that. I couldn't get in touch with Glenn but he was unearthed on facebook of all places :).

Can I fly the thousands of miles, bring my G25, and play too? Looks fun, don't expect me to go easy on you all.

Was looking for gtbn & was gone...

But still look in here now & again.

was never too fast, but always had lots of fun :)

Just thought I would mention that the 'Numbers has reappeared in cyberland.

Thanks for making me welcome and letting me sleep on your couch, guys. :)

Wow! I'm surprised I missed this thread.:banghead: p2, I check GTPlanet everyday but mostly just look in the computer section. GB sent me a PM through gtxf. That's where all of Kenji's folks went after granturismo.com blew up. I see the sites back also.👍

Hello to Jordan, and to GTP and all the fine folks over here.

As run-through in this post, GTBN was on life-support for a month or so while the domain and DNS got sorted out, but is now back as it's old "comfortable-pair-of-shoes" self.

Our attendance may be weak, but the friendships remain strong. Nice to see some old familiar "faces" over here!

I too am disappointed to see GTBN go. :(
Though never a member I was a regular visitor after I was pointed that way by a fellow A-spec nut. Miko and LaughteranDMirth's diary threads were invaluable info for the non-AI-puntery collection of points in the quest for 100,000 sans NOS.

I'm hoping Sukerkin's snippet of info is correct and that GTBN will be able to come back without data loss, as I'm 3498 points short of 100,000 and can use all and any help I can get right now.
