THE--HOG
hi guys i got gtr evo yesterday and was wondering if there were some veterans of this game i could ask some questions

1st is could somebody give me some good g25 settings to use as at the moment it feels like i dont have to turn the car as much as i should to get round corners.

and 2nd is some info on upgrade patches that are on this site http://www.simracingworld.com/games/250-gtr-evolution/mods/
are they ok to use i i dont want to muck up my pc.
and could some one recomend some of the patches that would improve the game play i am not so much bothered about new cars yet just making the gameplay better.

as far as i know the game is standard and has no upgrade patches put on yet. thanks guys

I don't think I've changed any settings on the wheel except to put the deadzones to 0, and to make sure the feedback is in minus figures. The only other thing I do with the steering is to change the steering angle in the car setup screen (usually to 21 degrees or so, depending on the car and mod).

Most mods are OK. If a mod doesn't work, the worst that'll happen is the mod won't work. Evo itself shouldn't be affected.

There are a few GTR2/Evo players here, but you'll get more info at Nogrip.

thanks mate looks like i just need to work with it a while.
The feeling is new to me i must need time for it to settle on me nothing a few laps of the nurburgring will not fix

great game cannot believe i didnt know about it sooner heel toe shifting and double clutching what more could you want.

Hey Hog, i just got this game last week, I haven't spent much time with it yet but it is definetly interesting. I think I've been spoiled with the graphics from shift, but I like the feedback in the wheel from this game. What's your feelings about this game? When I looked at the mutiplayer side of it I didn't see many servers.

I've been playing quite a lot. I love the fact that there are so many mods, including loads of cars and tracks, and I can go through entire race weekends with any setup of cars and tracks that I like. I'm loving the Nurb' in a C5R against a whole field of GT cars. So fun. And the cockpit details are so cool, I almost crash on the straights.

Yeah, the simbin games are really good, you should check out racedepartment.com, they have a big race on community and do league races everyday.

How is IRacing though? I've considered it myself a few times, but never committed due to financial struggles.

I love it, at first not so much. It was weird going from other games where I could jump into a race whenever I wanted to, to iracing that has a very structured race system. Other then the first few cars and tracks you get with iracing nothing else if free. This is what turns alot of people off but with the free content you do get, you can race a few complete series before you need to buy any cars or tracks. Practice and time trail servers are always open and everything you do is tracked and recorded. There has been an average of 2000 people online everytime I've been online. Races are setup based on your skill level so that you are matched up with the right level people which makes races alot closer. I think iracing is a little harder then evo and rfactor simply because it is easier to get loose with the cars but harder to save it. If you get to far off the track the chances of saving it is very small. I think on iracing news there is a code for a $5 one month subscription if you want to check it out. If you are big into mods and free cars and tracks then iracing will not be for you, but if you're more into the competitive side of it then iracing will give you more then you can handle.

Cool! Simbinners here. I bought GTR Evo Race ON before i got GT5. I got GT5 for Xmas. I wasn't willing to pay $66 for GT5 its not worth the price. My blu ray drive on PS died three weeks ago so im not playing GT right now. Has anyone downloaded the Ariel Atom mod for GTR Evo?

Cool! Simbinners here.

I have been using there sim series for about a year and a half now! Also a licensed member over at Race Department.com. Excellent sim racing community and some top notch drivers as well. I highly recommend checking it out!

I race in the Race series club which uses Race 07, GTR Evo, STCC and Race On. I am planning to join the rFactor club but the times that the scheduled races are don't work very well with me right now.

I have recently purchased the RACE 07/GTR Evolution bundle pack off of STEAM and I am enjoying racing against the AI so far. I am wondering if I purchase the RACE ON game will it link to my RACE 07/GTR Evo game as well or is it a standalone? I like that currently when I hit either RACE 07 or GTR Evo that it lets me use all the cars/tracks and lets me continue my championships without having to switch between games.

Sure thing Slammedc, all four, race on, grt, race 07 and stcc will all link you to the same cars and online servers. If you really get into it the place to find a good community with a competitive league series you have to check out racedepartment.com.

Slammedc, I started with NFS Shift, and then moved to Race On. Race On starts to get into the sim territory, fellowed by RFactor, then NetKar pro and then the top sim iracing IMO. If you would like to try iracing here is a promo code for a 30 day trail(iracing is subscription based).
PR-Zandvoort (One month of membership + Circuit Park Zandvoort for $5)

PR-NFFE (Three-month membership + Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS for $18)

PR-INDY (Three-month membership + Dallara Indycar for $25)

If you do try iracing please use me as a referrel name is, William Nowell or email Playyourrole@hotmail.com

Thanks for the informaton NC_2_VA. So, if I am able to run GTR Evo at max settings will I also be able to run iRacing at max settings? I am not necessarily a graphics snob, but I do like my games to look good, I hear iRacing looks decent at max settings and drives great on any setting of course.

Slammedc, if you like the graphics in Evo then you will love the ones in iracing. However depending on your system you many have to turn down things like, shadows, and high detail in your mirrors. Iracing is a dx9 game so most people don't have a problem turning the graphics up. Do a search and look at some of the iracing youtube videos.

Whoa! Stabizisback sure does know how to edit some great videos! That really makes me want to try it out. If I do, I will definitely put you down as a referral, thanks again.

I signed up for a 1 month trial at the moment and put your email as a referral, I hope it gives you something half way decent.

Thanks Slammedc, they will give me a free month on my sub. I hope you enjoy it, it can be a lot of info to take in at first, but once you figure it out you can start to see how deep the iracing system is. You can find me on the iracing section of racedepartment.
