The only reason I don't dupe is because I'm comfortable enough with just grinding out a few hundred thousand to buy/supe cars up. I never have a whole bunch of money on me - maybe 2 milllion at most if I'm saving up for something like a concept car or special LM car. I'm also lazy, duping just seems like a pain in the ass. Takes forever for GT5 to load... would rather just run the damn races. Would do it if it were easier just simply out of spite for the complete lack of creativity on PD's side.
If there were more races that I'd have fun competeting in then I wouldn't have to dupe/glitch. But there isn't... and the only thing stopping me is my own damn laziness. But it should've been blantantly obvious that there wasn't enough A-spec races to amount to anything particularly lucerative or even really benefitial for the gamer. 3 occurrences of duping and glitching later... and, with the exception of Seasonal Races, we still have no more amount of A-spec races than original release.
What was the point of putting cars in the UCD that could value 15-20 million credits when all I'm willing and able to do is either a race event that gives me 90,000 credits at a time or a whole series that might give me 1,000,000 credits in total (and also take about and hour or two to complete) - and I'm supposed to do this 20 times? And uhh... definitely don't have time to grind out enduros, even with a save function.
In GT4 there were plenty of events, some were very short but had great monetary reward, others weren't as rewarding. My particular favorite was a Special race where I could win a 250,000 cr Rally Car over and over again... and I could use any car I wanted to do it. This isn't really grinding to me because I'm actually having fun crushing the stock late-80's mid-90's competitor into the ground with a 600hp race tuned Z06. If I wanted a closer race, I had cars that were capable of doing that as well... but just being able to drive the cars that I want in an event that's fun and rewarding is all I'm asking for.
What really happened was the implentation of online racing... now that we have an online function that creates community, suddenly we gotta grind for everything we get as to add "value" to pixels and coding. It seems absurd, but if you've ever played World of Warcraft... people will actually go bat**** insane on Vent over a piece of gear. It's all because of the community, the status. I did more than JOE SHMOE should I get something better! For a game with a lot of content, this works successfuly. For a game with no content - it just fails and leads people to hack it up.
Anyway...
A: 31
B: 0 (eh, I'll get to it. When I feel like pushing "overtake" or "cruise" buttons for days and weeks... I'll let ya know, but don't hold your breath)
I also have just over 20 standard cars from the UCD and 0 premium cars. I don't have a huge garage because I buy cars that I actually want and they all play some part in my success in the game. I don't buy cars for achievements and whatnot. Just seems like a waste of money in game that has very little resources to gain it from. And even if I did average millions of CR an hour, I still wouldn't clutter my garage with hundreds of unloved cars just so I can flaunt the size of it over the internet. lol, I mean is it pokemon or gran turismo?
Just IMO.
