Any other good driving games?

You can try Ridge Racer for PSP, but the PSP isn't too good for driving games I think.

For PC, there are many excellent racing sims out there such as GTR Evolution, iRacing and so on..

For PS3, there is GT5 obviously but I also enjoyed playing GRID and F1 2010.

For Xbox, I think that Forza is quite good for its comprehensive customisation and livery settings.

WRC and Sega Rally Revo are good rally games. The two Burnout games are decent but I found them a bit repetitive. Juiced 2 was surprisingly good. I was hooked on the drift mode in it for a while. TOCA 2 and 3 aren't bad either. I'm not sure what else is available, I sold my PSP a while ago.

Ah i tried Ridge Racer on the ps3. Major suckage, yuk! I don't do pc games, consoles only. I know what games are available for ps3/ xbox cos my other half works at blockbuster, sadly they don't rent psp games anymore.

Ok then, you can try F1 2010, F1 CE, GRID, DIRT or Need for Speed just to name a few.

I think that the best racing games, in terms of physics, are all on the PC.

Amazed at all of the suggestions of racing games that aren't on the PSP for the topic about PSP racing games.

  • I suggest F1 2009 and Formula One 2006. The former is the first of the Codemasters games, and the latter is the last of the Sony games. Both are pretty good in their own way (I would probably put the Sony game as being better, but it is pretty close).
  • The Burnout games are kinda meh. Legends is definitely the better of the two games, with the Crash mode, better tracks and overall less repetitive gameplay, but if you played Burnout 3 there is literally no reason to play it. Another good one is the PSP FlatOut game, which is basically a port of FlatOut 2 and quite a bit more handheld-friendly than the Burnout games are.
  • Both of the TOCA games are really good on the PSP (probably the best sims on the entire system), with good controls and graphics that didn't take much of a hit from the conversion.
  • Juiced 2 is a really fun game, despite all attempts made to the contrary. The presentation is awful, but the game itself is really fun and plays really well. The car list is also quite varied and well modeled.
  • Need for Speed Carbon on the PSP is actually the best version of the game you can buy. It is overall a much, much better game than the console version (because it is basically a completely different game), and is easily the best handheld NFS title.
  • Test Drive Unlimited is another good console port. It is nearly identical to the PS2 version, with the only real difference being that it doesn't have a cockpit view for any of the cars.
  • The Fast and the Furious game is also pretty good. The game wasn't designed to play with the PSP controls, so it takes some getting used to, but once you do it is a very fun game with extensive tuning and a wide car selection. I would get Juiced 2 instead, though, because it is the better game overall.
  • The PSP version of Outrun 2006 is a fantastic, almost-perfect port of the PS2 game, and holds up well enough as the handheld game that it is worth a purchase even if you have one of the console versions.

Meh, I hate F1 games, so boring!
It'd be cool if Blur was on psp-love that game!
And I wonder if Dirt 3 will be ported, and if it will be better than Dirt 2 which was awful!

I haven't played blur. I just recently picked up Fuel thinking it's free roaming would lend something to my enjoyment. It's pretty boring. I wonder if the GT series had roaming, if it too would be boring?

I have gone back to GRID, which still provides loads of enjoyment. I think the physics are pretty good, but I'm using a controller. The game play is challenging as you want to make it, and the economic reward system makes sense. I like the graphics, however moody they may seem. By that I mean, the graphics are slightly dark and filmic in appearance if that makes sense. Hmm.. how to better put this. IF you can tell the difference between film and video tape, then you know what I mean by 'filmic'. Like, live news programs, or the evening talk shows (Leno, Letterman, etc) look like video (although I don't imagine they are actually using video tape as opposed to a digital production) versus, a movie or TV drama looks like film (although here again, I doubt they are actually using film since that is such an expensive medium, and digital format is much more flexible.

Anyway, I typically have enjoyed the codemasters releases. GRID has been my favourite up to this point. I am looknig forward to DiRT3, however, I would like to see another true rally game, with stages, etc. The DiRT series sort of moved away from what I enjoyed about the Colin McRae series.

What about Burnout Paradise in my opinion the best free style racing racing game.

Yes, Toca is good and offers variation by the truckloads. In the arcade category I don't think you can do better than Outrun 2006. Good fun!

It seems like you're shooting down more suggestions than accepting....... why are we even bothering. :odd:
