At this point everybody's noticed the Suichi Shigeno AE86 version, I think, but has anybody else noticed that you can do Takumi's "gutter run" technique at a few of the tracks in certain cars?

The big ones are the Rome Circuit and the Cape Ring;

If your car is light enough and your line right, you can actually hook the inside of your front tire on the inside edge of the apex kerbing, and it will hold the nose in on the corner, even if you should be understeering from excessive speed?

Has anybody else noticed/done this?

I have but on a custom course. I am a fan or atleast I like watching stages 1-4 as I dont have access to fifth stage.

I didn't notice it on Rome, but I think I've seen it on Cape Ring.

The closest I've gotten to a rain gutter is on Trial mountain. It's not close to a gutter though :dunce:

If done right there is a couple turns on Nordshliefe that (you have to take a high line) can simulate this allowing you to pass on the outside because there is a sharp change in banking going from nearly flat on the outside to 20-25 degree bank on the inside. If done right you can pass on the outside with ease.

Cape ring has incredibly high curbing on the spiral turn, so you can hook a wheel and get some extra speed that way.
