Any Scion owners on here?

Just curious if there are any other Scion owners than me on this forum. I'm sure this goes without saying, but Scion is an American only brand from Toyota (as far as I know).

Yeah, a few Scions are re-rebadged as Toyotas in a few countries. We get the xD in the UK as the Toyota Urban Cruiser and Japan get a bunch of the others just badged as Toyotas.

To answer your question though, there are definitely a few Scion owners on this forum, but I'm not one of them. You could try searching for "Scion" in the "show off your car" type threads to find out who has posted pictures of theirs.

I've got what is arguably the most true-to-life predecessor to the tC, the ST204 Celica, but that's about as close as I'll ever come to owning a Scion. A long while back, when I had a good job and was making a pretty decent payday, I had considered it as an option. You can see my thoughts here on the xD: The Third Sign of the Apocalypse: Brad Drives a "Toyota" and Likes It Not a bad car, but generally speaking, all of the Scions are too expensive for what you get.

Don't get Scions in Australia I don't think. But then again we don't even get the Toyota iQ yet so I'm not surprised. But no I don't own a Scion for the reason mentioned above and for the fact that they seem like a lot of other new Toyotas: dull and incredibly boring.

Well Murcie, they are somewhat boring, and HP increases would be nice. However, I think a majority of the appeal comes from the ease of tuning, availability of aftermarket support, and the huge fan base (ie. Scionlife.com). Also one could go with a somewhat sleek tC "sports car", a nimble and light weight gas miser xA or xD, or a quirky funk-da-fide xB in small or medium trim based on years produced. That being said, I cannot be upset at someone who can actually put their hands on Skylines as opposed to gawking at pictures. Hell, even Ausie racing is far more interesting than "redneck teather ball", I mean Nascar. If I were in your' shoes they would be connected to GT-R pedals by hook or by crook.

Enough of that. PTuning is very awesome to have available, and if I wanted or even had the liquid assets I would definately turn to them for parts.

You mean all the 50-somethings that have been buying them instead of the 20-somethings they've been targeting?
true....

last i checked, the late teens to earlly 20 have been going head over heals for the Kia soul.

And i see why.

In my eyes the coolest scion will always be the 1st gen XB(Toyota BB) and 1st production TC. really dislike the look of the new one...

I don't know, a lot of the Scion owners out here seem to be in the 20's-30's range. I think it depends on where you live. The left coast deffinately took to the brand more than the South (that I saw when stationed there 05-08).

Do you by any chance have 1st gen Xb or tc?

Doing a quick search, I've seen the reported average age of a Scion buyer is 30-39, depending on the article. Obviously the figure will flux depending on when the article is written, but they all seem to agree that Scion has the youngest buyers of any automaker.

Also keep in mind that younger people tend to purchase used cars, because they are less expensive. So sales data that reports the average age of the buyer of a new Scion will skew the overall owner population towards the older end.

My own casual, non-scientific observation: tC coupe drivers are overwhelmingly younger than 25. A disturbing number of them like to hang 2 inches off my rear bumper.

Its not that I don't see young people buying them, just not enough for "what they're supposed to be." The xBs always seem to be piloted by middle-aged women with NPR stickers on the tailgate. Of course, this is domestic-friendly Michigan anyhow.

But this...

Totally. Although, one thing that has always bothered me about the Scion loan/lease program (catered to young people, apparently) is that it never seems like that good of a deal. I mean, yeah, young people typically have poor credit... At least VW and Mazda were willing to give me awesome deals.

Go National Public Radio! Yeah I listen to it. :sly:
