Alright, I am just wondering.... Is there place in the nation that people get together and race each other? I want to race someone with some talent. I am tired of beating everyone i know, and I think it would be fun to go and compete againist other people. :D Playstation has to have some type of convention or something!!!

well the modem thing shouidl be coming out pretty soon so that could make for a competition on the net, but i dont know how it will work or anything. does anybody have info on the modem?

My sentiments exactly Magic069, up until about August last year i was desperately searching for somewhere to play GT2 against people that could actually play the game. Then finally, through my door popped a leaflet advertising a GT2 competition which was done at Vauxhall (UK) garages nationwide.

Every garage had been given a PSX and a memory card with a Vauxhall Astra saved on it. So, you had to go in there on Tahiti Road and get the best time possible. It was a 6 week competition, if you won at your local garage in 1 week, you won tickets to Legoland.

If you won in your area over the period of 6 weeks, you won a £100 lego set, and if you won nationwide, beating everyone in your path, you won £2000 of Sony Home Entertainment Equipment.

Well, i participated and got a time of 1 min 15. 4. I found out pretty soon i had won in my area, then about 3 months later, I got a phone call to say I had won nationwide and had to go get pics taken and collect my stuff.

If anyone wants to try and beat it, it was in a simple, 100% un-tuned Vauxhall astra, nothing done to it whatsoever, even tires or tuning ratios, just buy and race. Tahiti Road, and well, the rest is history, (albeit recent history), I just hope they do the same thing again with GT3 :)

See your in the UK, I live in the states! I haven't heard of such things in the states. I am competing in coolrules set of races. Which is awesome, but hopefully I will hear about a face to face competion soon.

You are obviously BSing, because if you actually won, you would have had to race more than once...

I was in a GT3 competition last week...Let me tell you how it went..

Fist of all I saw a poster at my work, about a great competition where you could actually win 5000kr. (I guess that´s 700 dollars or something like that.)

I was totally exited!! A few days later I saw an article in a magazine, and there was even an internet adress where I got the official rules!!

Well the rules said that the competition was in the arcade mode - two player battle - 2 laps - Trial Mountain - A class - Corvette...

That sounded simple..

Well I practiced that track for two days, and I thought that I was one hell of a driver....

Imagine my surprise when I got to the place where the competition was held.. AND THEY HAD CHANGED THE TRACK..

The track was Swiss alps - and the car was the Citroen Xsara..
I didn't go wery well....I think my time was about 1:23:5 something..

If you are interested: The winner was at 1:19:57

Well I got a GT3 T-shirt and a keychain...not that bad..

It wasnt in the US version

it was Opel. Opel and Vauxhaul are the same company just with different names. i.e. in mainland Europe their cars are called Opels and in the UK they are Vauxhaul. its kinda the same with Acura and Honda in japan Acura TL's RL's, CL's are Honda models, since Honda is the parent company

I want them to do GT3 competition in the UK i feel id probly do pretty well.

Ive been to a Pokemon competition where i beat a Nintendo Magazine writer and ive played in the Goldeneye competition @ Alton Towers and lost in the Final by ONE KILL!
