Any Wheel Without Pedals?

Hi,

I'm looking for a wheel to use in my living room with my HTPC. Since it is to use in the living room, a setup with pedals isn't very handy. I just want a wheel I could quickly plug and attach to a little table I have but I'm not going to bring in a big desk with a chair that I would need to use pedals...

Years ago I had a thurstmaster wheel that had brake + throttle right behind the wheel and I was switching gear with my thumbs using two red buttons. I've looked and it doesn't seem to exist anymore ??

Any chance the 2 paddleshifters on a wheel like the G27 could be used for throttle + brake?

Thanks!

Problem you have there if it did work is that it would be digital rather than analog input.

ie on or off no modulation.

That's going back to GT1 days..., if you're playing a driving game while holding a wheel with not brake/throttle pedals to step on, that's like playing on Kinect.

Doesn't the Logitech Driving Force Wireless have analog paddles for brake and gas?

As long as the game allow you to map the throttle and brakes to the paddles then you can do it. Thrustmaster RGT had twin paddles on both sides so you have two extra paddles to map gas and brakes.

On the back side of the wheel there are up and downshift levers along with analog levers on each side for acceleration and breaking if you desire to use them instead of the pedals.
P.S I'm not sure if this wheel will work with GT5.

Thanks guys!

Thanks to Zoom!Zoom! comment I have placed an order for that Thursmaster RGT wheel. Looks like this one is just perfect for me!

Need some games. Need a game or two or even three. My criterias are:
- Must use as much of my Radeon 6850 power as possible
- Must be impressive when I have guests
- Must have a very easy mode for kids ( like auto throttle / brake )

Setup info: SandyBridge i5-2400, 4 GB RAM, Radeon 6850, 55" Full HD plasma.

I don't really mind about the racing type ( off-road, F1 etc ) as long as it is entertaining

Any suggestions? :) I saw that new Dirt 3 game, would it be good for me?

Thanks!

you may think about getting the new microsoft wheel. It is not a force feedback wheel but is designed without pedals and might be exactly what you are looking for.
