Exactly...I mean it is an amazing automobile, but something that small and being that lightweight without proper aerodynamics...If anything, you'd put proof to the saying "I don't drive fast, I just fly low" :dunce:

Oh and the top speed record.... doesn't belong to the brits anymore, Sweden has that! And they use an engine block borrowed from america in the fastest car i nthe world the Konigsegg CCR. Uses Ford's 4.6 engine block. So now the McLaren F1, might be a great car, but isn't really special anymore....
And the Saleen S7 twin turbo is faster than both anyhow...
twin-turbo Ford Nascar based motor, very light body, areodynamic enough to create it's own downforce at 160 mph, and has yet to be tested for it's top speed....I willing to bet it will get past the Koenigsegg's record of 248 mph....

Haha, I saw some thing no discovery about how they wanted the Ford GT to be faster than the Ferrari 360. Eventually they managed it, but then again it has 150hp more, its expected. Also this wasn't even a Stradale. Salleen will not touch the Koenigseggs top speed without serious boost, it has too much drag (granted this provides it with spectacular downforce). Also, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but Wheels magazine Australia tested a "280hp" V-Spec II and ran a 12.7 quarter. Wheels are known for their slow times but still beat the fastest magazine time I could find for an 04 SVT Cobra which was MMFF with a 12.76.

And you seem to forget Ford beating ferrari 3 straight.

And an NSX costs how much? And it gets beaten on and off the track by a vette that costs about half that....
And Skylines, well only good car to come from japan, but still they are very costly to import. So you blow $70,000+ to get your R34 GT-R. And stock for stock, sorry to rip on your import lovers, but the 03 and 04 Cobras can beat a skyline around the track or strip. Granted it would be very close, but the brute power of the cobra would give it an advantage. Not to mention the the skylines are heavier...
And BMWs aren't the great either....
Again the Cobras can take it down, as could a vette or a later F-body.

They are rally cars, made to get to about 65-80 and keep there, not really o go much further.. they won't stop at 80 mph, but after 80 the acceleration decreases alot.
Oh well 4wd, try 2wd....
the front and rear axles are not posi, so only the right front and left rear are being driven, untill enough resitance is given to make the other 2 wheels go... that's why you will never see a full on 4wd burnout, well unless the cars has mods and the driver is good....

Can I just say thats why some people think the Americans are arogant! Oh and if the Saleen S7 is quicker then the Konisegg then how come the Konisegg is the quickest sports car around? Oh and the Swedish who made the Konisegg did tweek with enigine so its not fully an American engine.

And heres a few for u to think of American cars to beat:

  2. Bentley Speed 8
  3. Lotus Elise
  4. TVR Tuscon
  5. Konisegg
  6. Any F1 cars that are made in Europe or Japan.
Go try and come back from them and no Indy cars cant beat F1. I will expect your reply and want a laugh at the cars u come up with.
 
Alot of the indy cars are made in the uk anyway, in the same area as the f1 cars are made, theres like a racing car silicon valley around oxford.

Hey I didnt know that the U.K supplied the Americans with there Indy cars. I know most of the F1 teams build in the U.K and so most of them are English by where they are made and not but what country the team hails from. But I still wanna see his list of cars to combat mine.
 
I used the RX7 Race car from the Laguna Seca endurance. I did that race with my Ford GT.

Try some street legal cars. Speed 8 and F1 cars are NOT legal for street.
And the S7 has yet to have a top speed test, but on paper when you so the math, it darn well should be faster....
And as for the Enzo, it's been said many times, S7 can darn well hang with it. Just like it can hang with a McLaren F1. And Koenigsegg gets the motor BLOCK from ford. I never said the whole engine. Don't put words in my mouth. Koenigsegg makes everything else on their own. It's jsut that the 4.6 block is a very stable block at high hp and tq....

S7 just hasn't had it's fll testing done yet. But it's more areodynamic, lighter, and has more hp..... by those figures alone it should be faster....

American cars are more about speed and raw power than turning. Although our cars can still place a whopping on even the best supercars out there on a track.
And we win an awfull lot in real races against the uk and jp guys.
Look at grand am racing...look at lemans...heck we even world rally champs like 5 years running.... And the F1 cars may be built in the UK, but they tested in arizona....
allows for heat testing, and they tune the cars for the season.
It's just irritating to hear people go "Oh it's american it sucks" If you think that, then you are either under the driving age, haven't driven a foreign car to see how damn expensive parts and labor can be, or are just dumb...
Go drive a Boss 429, go drive a Cuda 440, or some other american performance car. They aren't bad at all...
And lots of times they outperform the more expensive imports...
I can't count the number of times I have heard kids with their hondas say that if they had a v-tech they would beat me...
Or how thier car was cheaper, well duh mine is brand new and I put some cash into it...
Or my snot boss who thinks he is big and bad with his 3000GT VR-4....
He thinks he is big **** in that car....

get out and actualy DRIVE some of these cars before you say "Oh well the 2005 stang sucks cuz live axle..."
half the time I can't tell it's a live axle, and I don't have the wheel hop of irs, and yes imports with IRS have wheelhop, and I find it worse than most US cars...
My job allows me to drive alot of cars, and my family is a large family, and I have alot of friends to boot, so I get to drive alot of cars. I know what they are really like, granted I not pushing them to their limits but neough to tell good from bad or moderate etc...

I have tried tuning every variation of the Elise that I have found in the game, and the most I can recall is also in the mid-300 area. I think the response about PD's horsepower modifier sounds the most likely.
 
unfortunately in international boards like these european people try to take america's small misfortunes and turn them into a weapon against an american poster they dont like. (example BMW_M3_GTR)

Ok, you seem to be suffering from a condition known as ignorance. How you figure the Saleen is faster is beyond me. Let's see, the CCR has:
1) Less weight by 70kg
2) 230 more horsepower (56 for the S7TT)
3) And approximately the same Coefficient of drag. (The S7TT was estimated at 2.9, the CCRs IS 2.9)
4)The koenigsegg runs a 9.0 quater, the Saleen does a 10.8 (on the Saleen website)

As for the enzo, the Saleen may be quicker of the start but I noticed something:
The enzo's 60-100mph is 0.3 faster than the S7s.. hmmm how often on a track do you start from 0?

okay, can you re-write this list to a few cars that are actualy availible to the general public? No joke an F1 would probably deliver a spanking to almost anything that's held infront of it, you're comparing fighter jets to mopeds!

Granted, the USA probably isn't the best car provider in the world, but i doubt japan is either (i prefer euro cars myself,) BUT can we try to keep to the original discussion? (now how's that for an oxymoron)

i've tuned my caterham back and forth and was able to pull the horsepower up a little, i just wish i remembered how, i know i changed around parts and such. has anybody tried the same with the MS elise?
 
Hehehe, so much for on topic...

It seems unlikely to me that any mods in the game could produce a horsepower that high.

Ok I will get back on topic in around 4 or 5 sentences. Americas small misfortunes would that be:
  • lieing to get the U.K to help in getting oil for America?
  • Voting Bush back to power?
  • And so what I think some Americans are idiots. What you going to do shoot me? And before you reply u will note I said SOME. I speak to some Americans on MSN and there fine.
Now back to topic. There is no way at all that you can get the Motor Sport Elise to the power the El Captain one has. I have treid every setting and its impossible to get it to have that much power.
