Anybody else want a Virtual Garage in this game?

I have looked and am surprised this hasnt been a topic of the numerous "What we want in GT6 or Patch 2.XX. So i thought i'd see if there was interest for it.

What i've always wanted is a virtual garage that we as players could explore and enjoy. PGR3 had something similar with your cars out on this courtyard area and the Burnout Paradise games had something like that too. I love the idea of being able to walk into my massive garage and go pick out specifically which car i want. I realize that it would take some serious computing power but if the aforementioned games can do it PD should be able to make their version worlds better.

You know that scene at the main home screen with the HPA TT, G37, TransCammer, and couple other cars? Thats what got me thinking, i wish i could freely walk around those cars and the rest im my garage.

Is this a feature you would like to see at some point in the future?
 
Like Autovista in Forza 4? Only with all of your cars and options to select and tune them? I would very much like that.

Yep. That would be nice. But we kind of already have a "showcase" type of thing with photo travel. You can walk around the car, and play with the headlights and stuff.. I see it unnecesary unless they add an option to open up your cars. But PD would have to model the engines of most cars...
 
Maybe a garage for cars you select? Or favorites. :D

I like this idea.

I prefer the old GT-style "my home" concept 2.000 times over this new "tab/window/list" thing we have now.

I haven't seen GT1 in a long time now, but wasn't it just that? A long list of cars?

I would like to have like a jay leno styled garage, just have my favourite 100 in a garage.

GT4 showed the car you were in parked in a garage in the home I believe.

In Asphalt 6 (iOS) they have a multi-room garage showcase thing, it would be nice to have it in GT5.

Hmm, taking back what I said before. I think I understand what OP means by this.

Like having all of you cars in a huge hangar, and the camera running through all of them like in the main menu sequences. But also having and option to move around them to pic the one you want to drive. I think I understand.
 
Yup husky, thats exactly what i mean. I think most of us love this game for at least one common reason....if we had the means, we would own and build these cars pretty close to what we do in the game.

Its always been a dream of mine to have a few hundred cars in this beautiful giant garage where i can go look around them, in awe of the collection i've put together and then be able to go get into the one specific one you want.

You ever do that thing where you're looking for one car but stumble across another that u almost forgot you had? Then u want to jump in that and go play? I imagine a virtual garage would make that a daily occurance.
 
Like the idea but it would take forever walk and even longer to find the car you wanna drive.

That would be better, you wouldn't have to walk for miles just to pick out a certain car, limiting it to just your favourites would make it easier.
 
yup, it would be a long walk, but i imagine that PD would implement some way to make that a complete non issue. no reason you couldnt have the same view we already have, plus this new feature.

Imagine if PD took this idea and did it their way. Talk about a completely spectacular feature.

I don't see a reason they can't use filters for your complete garage. Imagine the graphics of the filter: like going up or down in a freight/vehicle elevator as you filter.

Definitely agree with you, then. Just like the scene with all the tunner cars in GT5 that you mentioned. That looks like an awesome place to have all of your cars.

You could always have the option to choose from a list. Like "Search for car" and select it from that list which will take you directly to the car. Or have the option to "Get it" directly form the list.

Just like we do right now. Remember that we are able to get in/sell/tune and what not, even without clicking on the car itself. (btw, now I know why everytime I see a Lexus LFA in the game, I think of waffles)

That makes a lot of sense. I mean, if something like this were to be implemented, I don't think it would be realistic with 1000 cars at the same time.

Yeah, you guys got the perfect idea spot on.

I agree that would be realistic with a favorite list with your "super-favorite" 16 cars... That's what the game is used to handle...
 
I'd enjoy that very much. But obviously with a limit of say 15 cars or so at a time.

@Husky, yup i had the same thought watchin it. I cant say that the garage is spot on what i was thinking but i think we all get the idea for the most part. seems like alot of you like this idea, wonder how many ppl have to start talking about it before PD actually notices. Seems to me that things like the "Standard cockpit views" and other such things were big enough topics for fans that they had to implement them .

It's no secret. Mr. Yamauchi himself said that the last update was purely made out of fan requests. So who knows, maybe the'll keep an eye on us, and do this garage thing either on GT5 through updates, or GT6.

I think we have a winner.

Imagine doing it in a 1000 car garage. Why bother building a code for something so that you're forced to wade through your Vauxhall Corsas and old Fiat 500s to get to your F40s and MP4-12Cs.

Doing it for your favourites would arguably be much easier to develop.
