I have the Clio GT V6 and Stratos (anniversary pack) and tried entering them into some races. Near IMPOSSIBLE to corner on SH tires, even at low speeds. Is this a tuning issue? Or are the physics just very very different?

I got the same issues, ive compared the fxx with the diablo gt ( both of them).
All std settings exept for the tires (racing soft), controller on -2, and even with 80 km/ph you cant take very wide corners.
I think its a controller input problem ( 2mm input causes massive oversteer)
For a gt car this is doesnt even come close to real world physics.

ive tried a second test with suspension setup to maximum UNDERsteer, and still the problem remains...

Last year ive driven a bmw 325 (e36) on the zolder circuit in belgium, it had stock tires and even with stock tires it had massive grip because of the tarmac. ( tarmac on racetrack differs from hiway tarmac).
So there must be something wrong!

All these problems can be sorted with a customisable LSD. I used to suck at driving MR cars on all GT games, until I discovered the LSD. Now all I drive are MR cars, with the odd FR thrown in for fun!

Care to show what settings you use as a baseline? I should have added before that I'm using a DFGT with all aids off except ABS:1.

Ok, ive been testing the lamborghini diablo gt since the release date.
Its a problem that cannot be solved with lsd settings nor suspension settings.
I carefully worked my way up till the point that really everything ( lsd, suspension, rear slicks soft, gears exept wing settings) was set up for maximum understeer.
Controllersettings from -2 to 7.
The massive oversteer still remains!
This is a indication there is something wrong because by now ( with max understeer settings ) a gt car would drive
A. horrible (understeer)
B. better than the std set-up

When i wanted to adjust the rearwing ( most problems are easily corrected with wing settings),
i saw that you couldnt adjust any wing settings at all. (rather strange with such a big rear wing)
So my guess is that there will be a update that will fix that.

Please note that you should feel a big difference if you adjust lsd AND suspension settings to solve the oversteer problems.

And with massive, i do mean MASSIVE.
or rather uncontrolleble!

The Clio V6 and Stratos are MR and have a short wheelbase, so of course they're gonna be squirrely.

That said, throttle control is vital if you want to get around.

Although with the Stratos, you might as well give up and take it photo travel and admire its beauty.

I found that if you follow the AI's brake points and their corner speeds, the Stratos is a little more controllable. It does still have major snapback and it's very tail happy, but I managed to control it somewhat on SHs that way.

Just played with Stratos with dfgt and that thing is wild. You really need to be careful what to do and when or you'll just spin . I wont talk about GT physics (right or wrong) , but I recollect Stratos was hard to drive back then . There's some stupid article about 10 most difficult to drive production cars and guess what ? There's Stratos in there and even worse > a clio too :D >>> http://jalopnik.com/the-ten-most-difficult-production-cars-to-drive-677258770

bonus Stratos quote :
It was never sopposed to be a road car anyway, and emmepica knows what World Rally Champion Sandro Munari had to say about it:5

It was completely unpredictable. He could have done the same things in the same corner and the car reacts in a very different way. The windshield was so curved that the view was distorted. And when driving a Stratos, keep in mind that the car will oversteer and that the tank is between you and the engine, so a rear impact can easily become fire.

and a word about clio :D

The first series was pretty much a recipe for disaster according to DSC off:

With its notoriously huge turning radius, it was impossible to save any oversteery situation. And that mid-engined Clio was *very* tail happy.

They fixed some of that in the mk2, but the Clio V6 remained a tricky one.

I've driven the Stratos at Goodwood and it seemed really accurate to me. Mid engine and short wheelbase makes them very prone to big oversteer on liftoff, the Stratos especially is a very tricky car to drive in the real world. Sports hard tyres are the equivlant to Semi-Slick track tyres, not realistic for road usage and a lot more grip than the real tyres on the road going cars.

You can always make MR cars easier to drive by using higher grade tires in the rear, until you get real experienced with the tuning. On a side note, I am really loving how the MR feel, the balance change with throttle feels very real, huge improvement from GT5!

Driving the Light Car Company Rocket on Matterhorn is a blast. Such a nimble little car, and the oversteer from the MR drivetrain is so easy to manage!
