I'm still quite surprised they expanded their ST lineup at the same time they added the R8. I don't know where all the money is suddenly coming from. They might take a few of these Jetta's and enter the Pirelli World Challenge, we'll see.

Looks like APR is going to be running a brand new white Mk VI GTI afterall, replacing the wrecked red Mk VI from the end of last year.

It also looks like only one Jetta remains to be unpainted.

Looks like Multimatic Motorsport is running a Vantage GT4 in CTSCC GS class. AWESOME!!

I don't see why there are not more GT4 spec cars converted for GS use as the rules are very close and the cars can be easily modified to race in either. I would hope more Aston's and other FIA GT4 cars make the jump soon.

So it's looking like APR will only be taking 6 cars to Daytona, as opposed to the original 7. I assume one of the Jetta's could not get finished in time OR it will be going to another series (Pirelli World Challenge?) Strange since it's numbered with the Grand Am number scheme that APR uses.

They also might expand the R8 lineup in the future!

Interesting observation: The White MkVI doesn't have Continental or CTCC branding on it's fenders and windscreen. Either they didn't get it finished, or it will be joining another series as well.

Umm...the white car in the corner is a TT. There are 7 cars in that bay: 2 Jettas, 2 Golfs, 1 R8, 1 S4 and the white TT...or is that a spare R8....I'm pretty sure it's a TT, though.

The amount of Porsche's is sickening, hell there's more than all of the other brands combined! (24 vs. 22)

Lets hope that a few of those teams make the switch to other marques now that Audi and Ferrari (and others?) are getting involved.
 
24 Porsches out of 60 cars, a bit much, but then again Porsches are great endurance cars. So it's no surprise so many teams chose them. During the regular season they won't have nearly as many.
 
Interesting choice by Rocky to join one of the GT teams. Anyways, now I know to root for the 8 and the 45. Wish SPEED was showing the race straight through instead of taking a break for the evening, but hey, it's obviously too much to expect competence from that bunch.

Of course, I'll be rooting on Risi Competizione. The Porsche army, though, is going to be tough to suppress in the GT ranks, as per usual. It will be great seeing the bigger teams campaign those Corvette DPs. That even includes Texas' own- the "Red Dragon," GAINSCO. Likely won't see all the televised coverage, but I'll certainly check out as much as I can of this year's golden anniversary of the 24 Hours of Daytona.

There are usually live streams of the race so you wont miss anything.

I've seen too much of SPEED's F1 coverage to have a high opinion of their work. Watch one of their replays of a race from the 2011 season and then check out the BBC's broadcast of the same race and tell me there isn't a night-and-day difference between them.

With the exception of the commentary and commercials they are the exact same as F1 provides the stream.
 
I'll be rooting for the Franchitti brothers, Dario in car #02 (with Montoya!) and Marino in car #70.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I noticed the name of Eliseo Salazar in car #64.

Had no idea that man was still racing! Nearly 60 years old, respect to the man!
 
Two comments on the DP class. One, there are only fourteen DP's running this year? and two, I can't believe the #90 is only running two drivers.

I believe there were only 15 DPs last season so not a big change really. However, the Spirit of Daytona #90 running just two drivers is insane (If the spotter guide is accurate)
 
It can't be accurate as 3 drivers are required.
 
Isn't there a rule about the number of drivers and the number of consecutive hours they can drive, like at Le Mans? I think I noticed a few cars with less drivers but I assumed they were still to be named by their teams.
